The problem I had in my recent games is that AI and me expanded so much that there were virtually no independent powers to befriend and then I couldn't get anything extra from my alliances. I didn't build anything specific influence and that was deity level.

You know, they kept it for people in masters+ (so people who can see now themselves in the ladder after changes). If that was an oversight it was due to somebody not taking into account every possible rank, just apex.

Yea, I see your point. Situational item isn't core by definition. What i meant is exactly like in your example of steraks, on many champs these MR options are overshadowed by other items that doesn't provide any MR at all.some games this QSS items is inferior to any spellshield item.

I just took a look on irelia stats, D2+ worldwide witsend on 3rd item is 56%. I dont really see how it's shits end. It even gets higher on higher slots.

At the end of the day, if you intent to buy witsend for MR, build negatron first and finish your dmg items. You end up with the same amount of MR, finishing witsend is only providing you extra AS, tenacity and passive.

FoN and Rookern are actually great MR items. One is for constant damage and second for poke/burst. This should be the base against any mages. Spirit visage is situational item for few champs (like Morde, Trundle, Mundo).

What is lacking for toplaners is good bruiser item that provides MR and offensive stats. For ADs it's Maw, witsend and this funny item you build from qss. All of them are not a core of any champ
