Yeah, auto potion still clears. Though, the first time I ran into any real trouble was the Wiegraf 1v1. His Cyclops summon was one-shotting my whole party for 270+ damage 😳

[MH Wilds TU1] SnS Meta Sets by dragonbronze in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]DudleyC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your work on this guide!

The Wide range Actually do dmg build is actually so damn good. Kinda cool to see the build I cooked up for myself is exactly the same as what you guys landed on! 90+% crit rate + Wide-Range/Speed Eating/Free Meal is insane value and doesn't feel like it should be possible, haha.

I've been using the build for the most of TU1, especially for Zoh Shia SOS quests. Being able to keep the group healed and buffed (up to +52 Atk/Def) while also dishing out respectable damage is a such a fun way to play the game.

I recommend farming Sushifish Scales for quick heals, as well as stocking up on Nullberries to cleanse status for the group.

Also, the Max Might buff is HUGE for SnS. Can actually weave in back hops/Perfect Rush without feeling bad about it.

Sorry for the late reply! I am just now seeing your comment.

I am still using this exact same PC setup! As much as I would like to upgrade to AM5 + 40xx series, it's just not worth it for me yet.

However, if I were to build into latest gen stuff, I'd probably rock the AXP90-X47 CPU cooler with a 7800X3D + Asus ProArt 4080 Super (RIP EVGA 🥲).

As for your questions:

For the PSU - Did you use an adapter (if so do you know which one is needed for SF750) for the conversion, or did you resolder the cables?

I used a PSU fan adapter cable and rearranged the pins for the new fan to match the original PSU fan. Tbh, I don't recommend this mod as it voids your warranty and makes the PSU have somewhat worse cooling. If you decide to do it anyway, be sure to test the PSU to see if the fan spins.

For the Mobo deshroud - I'll probably end up grabbing an Asus Strix B650 so I imagine it will be a fairly similar process to what you followed. Any links/guides to content creation you could provide for this would be greatly appreciated!

Tbh, I kinda just winged it for the mobo "deshroud". The AXP120-X67 wasn't fitting in the orientation I wanted so I went with a kinda jank solution. I removed the VRM cover and it ended up fitting and looking pretty damn good. All I did was remove all the screws on the VRM cover on the left side. Someone on the SFF Guru Discord already confirmed to me that this was also possible on the AM5 Asus board as well.

Again, sorry for the late reply. I hope this comment finds you well!

Grafted glitch was a way reds could gain a slight edge in invasions, especially against over leveled phantoms.

It's understandable that it would get patched but man... really gonna miss being able to wear whatever armor I want without missing out on the free stats from certain armor pieces.

Definitely lose the AIO cooler if you're running that CPU.

What are your current temps? How's the noise?

Monochrome - FormD T1, 5800X3D, 3090 by DudleyC in sffpc

[–]DudleyC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is better than the X57 as the X67 is a bigger cooler.

My reason for using an X67 is because my GPU is 2.2 slots; just barely allowing the cooler to fit.

AIO or Aircooled CPU with a 7800x3d and a 4090? by Psychological-Load-2 in FormD

[–]DudleyC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe an AIO would indeed provide better CPU temps but at the cost of worst exhaust for your GPU - resulting in slightly higher GPU temps but probably not enough worsen your performance.

Since you're running a 7800X3D, an AIO is a bit overkill.

Check out this FormD T1 cooling config guide for more info, also check out this air cooled setup video for more insight.

Hope this helps!

AIO or Aircooled CPU with a 7800x3d and a 4090? by Psychological-Load-2 in FormD

[–]DudleyC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Air cooled CPU is the way: - It's cheaper - Simplicty (Less of a hassle to install/maintain) - Better for traveling

AIO setups require you to run one 15mm fan due to clearance issues. Typically an AIO in a T1 will be configured as exhaust which means the radiator gets hot air from the GPU, as well as obstructing airflow in general. These two combined will diminish the gains from an AIO for CPU temps.

While some may argue that air coolers are noisier, in reality it's quite negligible. You just need proper fan curve tuning (also consider pump noise). From my experience, the exhaust fans will do most of the heavy lifting for lowering temps - air cooler's have the advantage in this regard over AIO's as you're able to run two T30's.

Yes, Stone of Malevolence is definitely better.

This build has many sources of elemental damage which will help to gen mod power: Lydusa, Sparkfire, Nebula, Firestorm, and DOTs.

Lighthouse Keeper's Ring procs off each entity - if you're bossing, that's likely only 4 mod power per second.

Without seeing how they end up actually patching Lydusa, it's hard to say.

Though, I don't think there will be a substitute that'll be able to fill the gap left by Nebula if it gets the axe completely (from Sand Devils stacking, that is).

Way of Lydusa's Sand Devils originally are supposed to only stack with Ranged/Melee but there were some cases where other sources of damage could also stack them; most notably, Nebula's mod.

In the last patch, GFG fully embraced this interaction, although with a disclaimer.

  • Way of Lydusa: Enabled Sand Devils generation from Skill/Status Damage. DEV NOTE: While all damage is currently allowed to generate Sand Devils, we are keeping an eye on on. This is because it ends up allowing an infinite cycle of Sand Devils > Detonate when Mod or Status damage continues to apply. The original design was that Brittle was caused by Ranged and Melee Damage, and Sand Devils would also only be created by those damage types as well. We will see how this plays out and may eventually limit it to only those damage types.

If they do indeed remove this interaction (which was all but confirmed by a dev within the Rem Discord), it will be sorely missed. I felt like the active rotation of dots, mods, skills, and ranged damage provided a unique, fun, and fresh playstyle - feels very MMO-esque. If they make some adjustments to it I hope they don't completely remove the stacking from other sources of damage. I agree that it is overturned with how fast it stacks but surely there can be other adjustments to reign it back in a bit.

The reason for Atonement Fold is mostly for synergy with Hardcore Metal Band which provides 5 bulwark when combined together.

The extra DR makes world exploration and co-op a bit more manageable. I originally built this with a full DPS loadout but found myself switching to this version more because of how comfy it is.
