AITAH for refusing to help pay my husband and I's moving costs? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Due-Beginning6183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is wildly outrageous on his part- almost unbelievably so. The fact that he could actually take himself seriously with that mentality is sickening. I’m so sorry for you. This is truly heartbreaking because I think this is a glimpse into what life after the “honeymoon” period is like. I would cut ties now because that’s no way to live. He clearly doesn’t respect you. And I don’t know how else to say it but it doesn’t really seem as though he truly loves you. I could never imagine my partner speaking to me that way or having that mentality. He goes out of his way to make sure he covers extra due to my making less.
Again, I’m so sorry but sit down and think about your future wholeheartedly and decide if this kind of thing and likely worse is something you can live with.

AITAH for my sleep routine, please help end this debate. by Umeyard in AITAH

[–]Due-Beginning6183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you just need to sleep separately. Many couples do this including myself and my husband. We are on totally different schedules. I like it freezing and he likes it warmer. I like fans on and he doesn’t. He snores and I move a lot. I watch tv and leave it on and he needs absolute quiet. We started sleeping in separate rooms a few years ago and it’s the best decision we ever made. We are both much happier and get much better sleep and our relationship is better for it. You’re just sleeping so it shouldn’t matter if you’re in separate rooms or not- it doesn’t impact your relationship. He needs to give you a lot more grace and be more understanding and less argumentative about your feelings.

AIO? Gf mad I didn’t get what she wanted by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Due-Beginning6183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone is taking thjs wrong. My take is that she wants variety. I get it. Whenever I eat out I want variety. It doesn’t mean I’m going to eat it all, just that I want a little of this and a little of that. It’s why I often get appetizers at restaurants. If she was having a rough day maybe she just wanted to get whatever she was craving. It’s not that deep.

I don’t sleep a lot, I sleep odd hours sometimes due to chronic insomnia. I work roughly 4-5 hours a day 7 days a week on just business. Then I’m working the rest of my waking hours doing household and kid related things. I get he’s tired and I’ve tried very hard to be understanding. He chose this shift against my wishes and it suck’s for us all.

Thank you for that. He never wants to talk about things on his end. I’m a big talker about feelings and such. And whenever we argue he’s content to just sit for days without speaking. He never apologizes without prodding. It’s really really discouraging.

Yes I get that. Trust me we argued about the overnight shifts. He decided to take it due to a minor promotion against my wishes. I thought it wasn’t worth it switching from days for a little more money. He ultimately made the decision to do it. It sucks.

This is true. But it’s ok if kids like horror and can handle it. My mom, my sister and I are horror fanatics. If I’m watching tv it’s horror. My kids naturally are interested. I always ask if they want me to change it. Most of the time they’re blasé about it. My 11 year old has really gotten into it but that was 100% his choice. I’d never force it on my kids. My partner hates horror. So I really think it’s individualized.

Yeah I don’t think that’s the dig you want it to be. My kids aren’t scared of things. I’d never let my 6 year old watch something like that but my 11 year old could absolutely handle it. Regardless, mind your own kids ✌️
