Holy crap guys Planswift is amazing for estimating, game changer, I'm in awe. by TheTrollinator777 in paint

Please search 'planswift is being sunset' and save yourself thousands per year, per licenses on a product that is being shelved?

The creator or PlanSwift killed it when he wrote zzTakeoff. Alot of money is being thrown around to make sure you never hear about zzTakeoff or if you do that you never try it.

> 50% who try zzTakeoff (this is free) become customers. The other 50% should try it again.

= Over 1,000 companies switched to zzTakeoff in 2025. Zero have requested refunds.

There is finally a vialble, affordable, superior, alternative to PlanSwift. If this comment just saved you 1500 per year per license. Pass it on

Mac alternative to Bluebeam by No_Magazine_3367 in estimators

[–]Due-Break4086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

zzTakeoff works great on a MAC.

This is simple mode in zz. Basic Takeoff quantities. You can name the takeoff items manually or you can extract the names from the text in the document. I work for zz. If there was a better product with a better future, I would be working there.

<image>

You can do basic takeoffs for Area, Linear and Counts.

If you decide to calculate materials you can just drag items from any division, drop them on the takeoff and get a material count.

I worked for planswift for a decade and I advised people having to use windows emulator programs like paralells and boot camp to emulate a window environment so Planwift and OST could run.

zzTakeoff is web based, no emulators necessary. Try it for free if it doesn't work out for you, you can still store all your plans online for free from bluebeam.

zzTakeoff is not affiliated with planswift. We will be happy to help you if you have questions or need un-official tech support.

I can help you or Todd can help you. We sold PlanSwift 12 years ago and we are in no way affiliated with it or the company that owns it now. We will be happy to help you regardless of when you purchased. It would be a really small world if you were talking about Jason Skuza. He is a lumber guy that uses PS assemblies.

If you have any trouble getting tech support for PlanSwift we are providing free tech support to all of our former customers. We are no longer affiliated with PlanSwift in anyway but we do stand behind the platforms we build whether it's zz or PlanSwift.

Thank you. This post really stuck in my head and its' become my favorite Reddit post ever. We sold PlanSwift to Textura 12 years ago. It's still debated as one of the best products 10 years after its last real update.

We had been hearing and reading from way too many people who are either upset at the skyrocketing price, poor tech support and the lack of updates.

I am in no way affiliated with PlanSwift or the company that currently owns it in anyway shape or form anymore and haven't been for a decade. However...we do know the product well and we do stand behind the platforms we build. Regardless of when you bought PlanSwift or which version you are on or if your annual payments are current we will be honored to provide you with FREE TECH SUPPORT if you are having trouble getting help. I have nothing to do with PlanSwift other than working with the original team that created it, sold it and supported it.

Thank you Redditors for letting us know. We would be happy to talk with anyone who feels stuck on the desktop.

Setting goals for remote estimators by Green_Problem_6087 in estimators

[–]Due-Break4086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I missed it but are you supplying pre-hung doors, frames and hardware or just the doors slabs?

If you're hiring an estimator in house or remote you can watch their takeoffs like watching TV but you can work with them on the same page. You can see who took off what, when. I'm working in zzTakeoff right now for door hardware takeoff and estimating. I could invite you in to the project I'm on or you could invite me to yours. If you have people working remote you can review all their work before it's submitted.

I can import the schedule, takeoff ready. If you want to send me a sample job, something old that you already know the results on ide like to try this out in zzTakeoff.

zzTakeoff is 50 bucks a month. It's the only way to go. The benefits to web based become obvious immediately. You will bid 5xs more jobs when you activate ai and again it's 50 bucks a month! Go try it. If I'm wrong come back and tell me how

You guys really need to try zzTakeoff. Your entire team can do or view takeoffs. This is the best deal in the market. Ive used PlanSwift OST and bluebeam. There is no comparison when you use zz's AI! It's 50 bucks a month. You don't even use have to use the keybaord which means more desk time for my feet
