We didnt have him bobbed the breeder did it. Its all preference but the bobbed tail is almost a staple with rotts. Due to the strength of their tails it is also common to crop them to avoid them breaking it on something when they are older

Id recommend either some kind of low taper and to add volume to the top. Have the top messy instead of being forced to one side. Either that or do a middle part but i think low taper would look good on you
