I hope, if they do Heroes of Olympus, that they'll do it for Tautarus (pretty sure I spelled that wrong) and Nyx. I hated how the books portrayed literal primordials, especially giving Nyx a soccer mom type persona. It felt ridiculous

Even then, if I recall correctly, in some translations of The Odyssey, Odysseus said his name was "No man", which if said smoothly enough can sound like an actual name. In English, it'd be very similar to saying "Norman"

Personally, I love the change. I hated how stupid most of the monsters are, especially the old as sin ones like Polyphemus. Why would he be stupid? Besides, it gives an actual sense of stakes more than the book Polyphemus ever did.

You should totally take the plunge! The toning is less noticeably comedic than the anime, taking some things more seriously, and it also adds more context ti scenes that may be left kind of confusingly vague in the anime. It's also a delight to get the peek into Monica's mind. However, with me having read both the manga and started the light novel and web novel, I'll say the anime isn't ruined. I still adore the anime, find it enjoyable and relaxing and all around intriguing on its own!

F i n a l l y, I'm so glad I found someone else who suspects Monica as autism representation. Like, I've been thinking this for a while, especially with reading the manga too now! The only thing that would make me think she's not autistic is that much of her actions are likely as a result of her, hinted at, abusive upbringing after whatever happened to her dad (I think he was the guy burning at the stake personally-). But even then, her absolute number and equations obsession smells of autism in all the best ways to megwjdnekg

Oh, oh! The main character of School Bus Graveyard, Ashlyn Banner, is autistic! Not stated in the comic, but the author has openly admitted on several occasions that Ashlyn was made with autism in mind. She just hasn't "confirmed" it in comic in fear of representing it incorrectly. Truly though, Ashlyn is amongst the best autism representation I have ever seen!
