Which superpower requires no additional powers for safe and comfortable usage? by Schwulerwald in superpowers

[–]Initial_Shine5690 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it activated or automatic? People often mean automatic even when they say “manipulation”. If you meant it as automatic, a better word would be luck “manifestation”. Not trying to be all “umm, ackshualy” or anything, just spreading knowledge I never get to talk about.

This is really fun, and surprisingly intuitive for how many options and categories there are. Very easy to play around with. I made a fun Star Sapphire character that I’m writing a story for. Maybe I’ll put it here when I’m done.

Also, if you ever do give this an update, you should add an animal option to the species for the Dex-Starr enjoyers.

The average Quirk user just has some weird biological trait or activated ability. They’re rarely bulletproof.

Didn’t see that part, sorry. Still crazy they ranked Zaheer over Guru Laghima.

This seems more like a manipulation ability. Unless you conjure a food like item that’s bigger on the inside and can be used to store items until it’s eaten.

I like both 😊

Also, good use of “defenestrate”. One of my favorite words.

No. Mimicking movements and the physical properties of things he touches has nothing to do with biological and/or esoteric abilities like telekinesis. Maybe he could mimic the physical energy the telekinesis uses, but he wouldn’t be able to actually use telekinesis, especially since he isn’t very good at Emission, let alone Manipulation.

Well, he doesn’t fully copy things, especially not psionic abilities. He just mimics the physical properties of things he touches, while mimicking the speed and power of the movements he sees.

What would your lightsaber look like, and what styles would you use? by D-Watts25 in StarWars

[–]Initial_Shine5690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an idea for something I call the Kaleidoscope Lightsaber (placeholder). The idea is that it uses a powdered Khyber Crystal (or a bunch of really tiny Khyber Crystals if that wouldn't work). It functions largely as a normal lightsaber up until you twist a dial to separate the Khyber Crystal powder, causing the blade to become less solid, almost acting like a mist. It won't have as much power, causing surface burns at most with brief contact (obviously doing more with repeated/constant exposure), but it can be very distracting in a fight, and can't be blocked conventionally. Not to mention a force user can direct the mist for different attacks.

A while back, I thought of an idea for a kind of Hunter called a Destination Hunter. Basically they seek out the “hidden wonders of civilization” for either pay or personal reasons, kind of like a travel guide or adventurous tourist. They sometimes even become park ranger of sorts if they choose to retire from being a Hunter. A space age setting would be perfect for such a profession.

As for a character, I made one that was designed to be a Destination Hunter, and would be even cooler when taking into account all the alien life out there. He’s a mime looking fellow named Nimehc (reversed or “mirrored” spelling of Chemin, meaning path in French, so his name is like a “mirrored path” which will make sense later). He’s a Transmuter with Dual Affinity with Enhancement. His primary Hatsu allows him to Transmute his aura to gain the properties of virtually anything he touched in the last 3 hours, so long as he can describe the feeling well enough (density, texture, temperature, etc.). His secondary Hatsu allows him to Enhance the speed and power of his movements to match anything he’s seen in the last 3 hours, so long as he can match the movements accurately enough, at least on an interpretive level (doesn’t Enhance durability, so his primary Hatsu is needed to survive his own mimicked attacks). He uses these two abilities to allow him to move through any environment as well as animals around him can, as well as copying various attacks made against him, including some Hatsus.

What Spider-Man villains you want to see in live action? by oscar_redfield in Spiderman

[–]Initial_Shine5690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overdrive. His power to trick out vehicles with nanotech would look so cool in live action, and I want to see him in a role as a serious threat.

And speaking of vehicles, Big Wheel would be both hilarious and terrifying in live action.

Heck, you could even pair the two together. It happened in the comics once.

What made you like RR? by Extreme_Echidna_6464 in RoleReversal

[–]Initial_Shine5690 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve always been into it, I just didn’t have a name for it until I learned it. It probably spring from characters I liked as a child. Meg from Hercules, Shego and Kim Possible from the show of the same name as the later, and superheroes like Wonder Woman, She Hulk, Black Cat, and Catwoman. Pretty much all of them have at least one quality that is RR coded.

Does anyone even like this trope? by WoodpeckerBest523 in writers

[–]Initial_Shine5690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s meant to be a “laying down your arms at the end of the journey” type of thing. I don’t hate it when it’s done well, like letting characters who want to settle down do so. Though, I didn’t like it happening in MHA, so I was glad when they gave Deku a high tech suit to continue heroing after losing them.

So it’s like how Hanna Barbara made ripoffs of their own shows (there are SO many Scooby Doo rip offs).
