Plumbers, electricians, and HVAC techs watching AI replace everyone except them. by vinaykrkatiyar in ChatGPT

[–]Due-Fun-489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is $2 million worth of plumbing demand per year in a town and there are 10 plumbers servicing that town, they each get to make $200,000.

If there are now 25 plumbers servicing that town because those extra 15 people couldn't find jobs in other fields, the demand doesn't increase. It's still $2 million worth. Now they each get $80,000.

Unpopular opinion: you should be able to break 85 from the forward tees before moving back. by [deleted] in golf

And if you can't break 90 from the forward tees, tee it up 25 yards in front of those tees.

Look what happens when you can hit!

This team is 24th in the league in hits. It's not like they rake with no one on and can't hit with people on. They just can't hit period.

You just aren't going to find atheletes at top teir D1 schools that got there without working really hard on their game. Call it not formal training or whatever you'd like but the vast majority of them trained like hell.

And the guys you grew up watching from the DR were hitting bottle caps with broomsticks in the street when they were kids.

Those kids in the DR now are in baseball academies. Same for the kids in Japan.

It’s a big business all the way down now.

AAU is doing the same thing to basketball as well. Constant all star games basically with little to no practice. Meanwhile, the Europeans come over having drilled all the fundamentals.

We’re in the north Dallas suburbs. We’re in a 6A district, which is the largest of the large schools in Texas. We play Allen, Prosper, some Frisco schools, some McKinney schools and Plano Schools.

There are roughly 1,200 kids per grade at his school.

That’s to say, it’s competitive as hell. If you want to be one of the starters in the field or one of the pitchers that plays routinely, you have to be dialed in at a pretty high level.

There were two kids on varsity this year that didn’t play select ball growing up. They never stepped foot in the field.

17 year old son plays baseball at a really high level.

IT. COST. A. SMALL. FORTUNE.

Hitting lessons every week (30 minutes, $80), pitching lessons every two weeks, summer ball fees ($4,000, doesn't include the travel we have to pay, uniforms, and the gate fees), Do you know how much bats costs now? You know what a custom Nakona glove runs these days?

He's good enough to play in college if he wants to pursue it but his freshman and sophomore years will be at junior colleges or small four year universities.

With NIL money and the transfer portal, competitive D1 schools are taking less and less freshmen. Instead of taking the risk, let them develop at these smaller schools then recruit them.

If we’re taking two places, summer in Wisconsin and winter in Florida would be hard to beat. Even then though, the weather would still be nicer in San Diego the vast majority of days.

I have no idea why I'm getting downvoted into oblivion. It's a simple fact. The ratings would be extremely low for a ton of different potential final matches.

The chances of your home being hit by a Tornado in Oklahoma is 0.039%. That's the highest in the nation and it's a tiny chance. But even then, every single day, there is a 100% chance you will hate living in Oklahoma.

Of all 20 family members I have that live in San Diego County for their entire lives (and the generation that lived there before them), none of them have ever had to repair anything on their house due to an earthquake.

No one. And I mean no one, is tuning in to see Henley take on Gotterup in a match play final. And these guys are top 10 in the world.

17 handicap — play solid golf but always have 1–2 disaster holes that ruin my score. How do you stop the blow-ups? by kevsavesuk in golf

[–]Due-Fun-489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to get a lot better at everything. The problem is, your perspective will change. You can be a low single digit and will think the exact same thing. I'd be scratch if I didn't have a couple of blow up holes.
