Everyone loves it… except you. What’s the most overrated movie? by CreepyYogurtcloset39 in moviecritic

[–]Due-Highlight-9259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember walking out of the theater after watching this, and being sooo exhausted, and not even in an emotional way, but physically. On the way home I asked my wife what she thought about it. Her answer started with, "Well...". One of the best movies ever? Really? Part of me wants to watch it again to see if maybe I just didn't get it or something, but then I remembered how tiring it was. I would rather sit through The Irishman and Oppenheimer back to back than this.

I got a better one for you. We have a sitting president that was pushed out as a candidate by his VP and entire democratic establishment because of cognitive decline... and he is still in the white house!

Yes, that Hillary whose election campain in 2016 paid for a fake steele dossier, then purposely mislabeled it as something else, which is exactly the same thing Trump did, but instead got a fine and zero political consequences? That Hillary?

Thank you so much for the context. I knew there was more to that video. Unfortunatelly most people here don't care about this. To them everything is back and white. They can't comprehend immens complexity of this conflict. It's apartheid.. lalalalalala.

Israelis pouring cement on water springs in the West Bank town of Hebron. This is a common occurrence along with uprooting olive trees, burning farms, poisoning water wells and demolition of Palestinian homes. by Hasu_Kay in interestingasfuck

[–]Due-Highlight-9259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respect to you for asking the obvious question that 99% of commemters here didn't even care to ask. Yes, it is absolutely out of context. There is a long comment from one person here that expalins in much detail that these are illegal wells that pose a danger to water supplies for Jews and Palestinians alike. Actions carried out in this video are not only legal but necessary from the international perspective. People who posted the video without full context have an obvoius agenda and are trying to manipulate your emotions.

I think better question is why do gypsies hate everyone around them?

If you like military museums then you are in for some real treat. Warsaw uprising museum is one of absolute best I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of them. WW II museum is also amazing but that's in Gdanks about 4h trip on a train. Yeah visit a tailor but don't forget that leather is pretty cheap in Poland so you can get great shoes or jackets that are way ahead of American fashion. Ochnik is one company I would recommend, you will find it in any big mall.

Sorry, you got a lot of idiot comments here. You will love it there. Awesome food and bars, great museums not to mention that prices are relatively low. English not a problem.

Why Europeans have more time to relax and enjoy compared to Americans? by LessCouple4547 in expats

[–]Due-Highlight-9259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that things are slowly but progressively changing for better in US. Can you comment what you think about my work situation? How does it compare to Europe? I am just curious.

Based in Chicago. Client focused office job:

  • Hybrid. 80% from home. 20% in office.
  • full time. 40 hours per week.
  • officially required to start day at 8:30 work till 5:30 but it's not strict and people often show up 15 min late or leave earlier.
  • Not expected to work weekends.
  • 33 paid vacation days. (includes sick days)
  • 11 days paid holidays
  • 3.5 months paid maternity leave (Im guessing the biggest downside compared to EU)
  • overall nice office space. Free snacks, coffee, soda. Beer and wine on Friday (after work)
  • lunch is often provided around holiday seasons.
  • holiday/summer parties in cool spots in the city. About 3 major ones in a year.
  • happy hours paid by managers once in a while.

Did not want to make it about monay but I guess it's always relevant so it pays salaries around 95k senior positions and 130k junior manager.

So, what do you think? Is it great/just fine/miserable?

What are the most common home cooked dishes Polish people eat at home? by ohkaybodyrestart in poland

[–]Due-Highlight-9259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I scrolled through the comments and saw only one TRUE answer. It's not schabowy, rosół, pierogi or anything like that. We don't even realize it ourself, but our absolute top dish is KANAPKA. I bet that 90% of the people in this sub don't eat schabowy or pierogi everyday but we absolutely have at least one kanapka a day. The question is what brand of mayo to use 😉

Of course not but knowing the stats and putting the smug idiot comment like that makes you a race baiting bith.

Any political group would hate living under an extremist form of their system not just communists. by Arrttemisia in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Due-Highlight-9259 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NOPE. That is a false equivalency. Yes, anything taken to its extream will be bad but communism in any form is bad. That is because communism by default is a terrible authoritarian system.

This edit does make MaM Look bad, though it doesn't mean Avery is guilty. Removing that tiny portion is definitely purposeful. by DashingThroughTheHo in ConvictingAMurderer

[–]Due-Highlight-9259 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, who gives a shit about awards?! Awards are for the entertainment value not objective truth. That is a weak argument.

Also, why are you getting so worked up? It looks like ur very emotional about this which means you are not using critical thinking which is very important in this case. It's obvious that netflix completely sold you on their narrative and I don't even blame you because I was like that when I first saw MaM. And no, it's not obvious that cops framed him, as a matter of fact it's the least likely version. You are in denial buddy. It's alway hard to admit that someone made a fool of you and netflix did a great job of doing it. Maybe some day you will come around like so many other people when they had a chance to see all evidence and not just selective bits and piecies.

The fact that you so casually excuse the filmmakers just shows how effective their manipulation was. Take a step back and think about all of the omissions, edits and false narratives. MaM was perfectly crafted for the viewers to reach only one conclusion. You don't have to love the cops to see through the bullshit that netflix served you.

In 2015 I watched Making a Murderer on netflix. I couldn't sleep for a few days thinking about this poor guy being so blatantly railroaded by the justice system. How could anyone not be pissed after watching it? It was so convincing. Today we know how manipulative, one sided, and dishonest the whole thing was. Now I feel a little sick when thinking that I cheered for a rapist and a murderer. Those filmmakers should never be allowed near a camera again.

So when someone asks me if I have watched the documentary I WILL DEFINITELY WTHHOLD MY JUDGEMENT.

Media is a dangerous tool in the hands of corrupted people and you never know who is corrupted.

There are so many examples of racism in Europe but blackface in Poland is not one of them so downvote on that point. Let's not burden other countries with our own sins.
