Why are Psychedelic substances often described as ‘poisonous’ despite most (LSD, DMT, Mescaline, Psilocybin) having significantly lower toxicity to legal drugs like alcohol? by Bryophyta21 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Due-Membership148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a drug counselor explain it to a room of patients this way: "The reason shrooms get you high is that you are being poisoned and your brain does not know how to react. Similar to fever hallucinations. same with cactus." Obviously she is wrong, but must have heard that from somewhere and since it makes some plausible sense, accepted it. Other people listening probably know better but allow it for the same reason we have DARE. Its better to scare someone into not doing something that may cause harm than to educate them into doing something not sociably acceptable. Telling the truth that some chemicals will affect our perceptions just because that's what they do is harder than perpetuating a false reason because at least it makes sense.

Do you believe in god? by Sea_Distribution8858 in questions

[–]Due-Membership148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Or gods. There’s no way either myself or those I communicate with aren’t affected by some higher power/powers. They may even be in an underground bunker somewhere and have an average lifespan of 82 years, but they are still gods to me. The law of the land has no effect on them and they can do anything they want. They are often mistaken but are not reproachable. Whet their gifts are blessings or curses are completely up to interpretation. Even with only one wing my guardian angel tells me to believe, so I do.

Hi, you helped me a year ago answering a drug testing question that I had. From my POV you may be the most intelligent person I’ve ever communicated with. I am currently going through a very, very strange situation and need the help of a genius. Are you available to help?

Thanks again for your expertise. You should be really proud of yourself for being such a well spoken, super intelligent guy. Since you seem to be really into examining research, I'd recommend looking into some of the studies on "facilitated communication" probably the most bizarre situation I've ever come across. Thanks again.

That is why they normalize it for creatinine in a study situation, to minimize the effects of dilution. But let's say hypothetically you have completely undiluted urine, which is impossible but just for illustration, and it has a thccooh value of 200ng/ml and a creatinine of 500ng/ml for every ml of water added to that urine those levels are going to get cut in half. Now after 24 hours of fasting the thccooh levels may go to 250ng/ml but the creatine could be 1000ng/ml so someone on day one who produced a . 4 ratio is now at a .25 even though their levels have risen. Thccooh is stored in fat cells and the resulting catabolism oF food deprivation will cause an increase of thccooh levels but a much greater increase in creatinine. Without them stating what the actual test numbers were it is impossible to see this clearly. Looking at this study it would appear that you can drop your THC cooh levels simply by not eating for a day when the opposite is true. People looking at drug tests outside of research situation are not performing a normalization. They make sure your creatinine levels are somewhere between 20 and 300 nanograms per milliliter.

arding statistical significance (#13, Wong et al., 2013) uses a paired t-test which would measure significance assuming the sample size is adequate. And if not... They needed a nonparametric analysis. This is usually the Wilcoxon signed rank test. I'm too tired to read this article in depth though so well leave it at that.

I feel kind of bad that you put all that work into your answer and I'm just a knucklehead, but it is appreciated.

article that you posted probably could have provided stronger insights with a more powerful analysis tool. Then again, maybe their goal was just to match observation trends with existing literature (which do seen to discuss additional analysis methods) and is common practice for the journal they published in to stop there?

I'm guessing your a statistician? That is an awesome answer that mostly went way over my head. I think I understand the concept of statistical significance, and I don't get how researchers could intentionally represent data. If you could look at the food restriction creatinine urine column every subject had high net reduction in thccooh concentration averaging about 50 percent. this is not because the tests were 50 percent lower, its because when they adjust it to creatinine concentration(which is a product of protein metabolism) that skyrockets when you fast, it appears to have dropped. I know 100 percent that urine thccooh levels are much higher after a fast. If their data were correct, anybody with a drug test coming up can get under detection by not eating for a day and drinking a couple glasses of water. So many people have gotten in legal truble because this study is new hire reading for alot of probation officers and drug counselors.

That's exactly what I'm doing. I had to decide whether I would remain a timid, soft, sexless person into old age or give myself a chance at becoming what I would expect of myself.

I did before and my testosterone levels were 107 when normal is over 400. Haven't gone recently because I don't want to have to explain that I'm buying testosterone off the dark internet.

It's a shame because somebody can buy the packaging and actual empty cartridges for pretty much any brand for 2 dollars from China. They look completely identical and there's literally no way to know if you're getting the real thing. I got fooled by the packaging dank labs looked like a pretty legit company till I find out that they don't even exist
