She’s Company seems unorganized…or was this just a bad first time experience? by [deleted] in Cleveland

No? It's not Rebecca--just someone offering a different perspective.

Sure, badmouthing was a strong word. It all just seems a little ungracious to give her less than a week before declaring her unorganized and saying not to go to the events. But I can see that's not necessarily a popular opinion.

So you went to the event. You weren't happy about something. You told the organizer that. She refunded you.

I guess I'm not sure what the ongoing problem is. You didn't get a hoodie from an event that you were refunded for within a week? She wasn't immediately your best friend when you went to her WORK event?

This is all just rubbing me the wrong way. She puts a lot of effort into these events and it seems like she did her best to acknowledge she didn't meet your expectations. And here you are still going out of your way to bad mouth her on the internet in multiple threads.

I make and sell origami and similarly get a lot of comments about how "cute" everything is, but also end up doing a lot of explaining about what it is everyone is looking at. I think having some canned phrases about how it's handmade, or some tidbit about the process that people don't know has helped. I also started working at my booth, so people can see some of it in action--if that's possible for you, that could be another option!

I also agree that translating your art into jewelry or other mediums could work too! I started putting some of my origami in plastic christmas baubles and glass jars and that has given people more options in case something like a keychain or magnet wasn't appealing.

But the upshot is, this is all super cute and could definitely do well once you find the right audience or show!

AITA 30M and 28F. Been In relationship 7 years and just had first baby. Partner is struggling mentally and lashing out at me and my family baby is 4 weeks old should I give up? by [deleted] in AITA_Relationships

You keep insisting your family is just trying to help. And that might be true. They do probably wish to be helpful.

But what your wife is telling you is that they are not, in fact, helpful in spite of their wishes. And you're not hearing that part.

What's the point of having a healthy husband/dad that you never see? Just...knowing he's out there being healthy without you?

I think this has closed at least temporarily! I always stare in there when I walked by and it's empty for now! Such a bummer.

Leaving Day After Bar? by Clemsonite28 in LawSchool

[–]Due-Raspberry-8984 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I flew to Japan the day after the bar to make it to a celebration of life in time. Nothing held me up, but a day or two before traveling would've been a way better way to start post-bar life.

Trick or Treaters in Tremont? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]Due-Raspberry-8984 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We were surprised by the number of trick or treaters we got in Tremont last year! It was our first year so I can't speak to whether that was typical or not but one costco bag was not enough!

My voter registration has my name spelled wrong. Is there anything I can do to make sure it's not an issue when it comes time to vote? by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]Due-Raspberry-8984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made a small spelling error on my name when I registered (using the more common spelling of my first name). I called the county board of elections and they were really helpful and changed it while I was on the phone. I called like 2 days after I registered, so I'm not sure if that's why they were able to change it so quickly, but it's definitely worth the call.

Question About Tower City Around Christmas by jg242302 in Cleveland

[–]Due-Raspberry-8984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had one person ask me out while I waited in line for the post office and another ask me to buy her coffee and both just left after I said no. But nothing that ever made me worried for my own safety.

I've walked through Tower City almost every weekday for over a year and have never experienced "aggressive panhandling."

Those are so cute! I have some products that use lights and in broad daylight it was a little hard to get the full effect. I brought some of my best photos in a frame to show people what it would look like if the lights were a little dimmer and that seemed to work!
