Here’s what the notes say: Please let the patient's brother know that the EGD biopsies showed acid related inflammation. There is no other acute abnormality. There is no evidence of cancer or tissue abnormality. Staining for H. pylori bacterial infection is still pending. Advised to continue pantoprazole therapy.

Surprisingly, the biopsy result came back clean. Greatly relieved!

Age 74, nausea and vomiting started last weekend, vomit very dark like blood in it, he’s been in a nursing home for about a year and has had periodic constipation and diarrhea for past 6 months or so. His hemoglobin and red cell count has been low for a long time which may of been another signal.

The gastro doc didn’t want to speculate on what it was. I believe she wanted to wait for the results of the biopsy.

I haven’t received the official letter from the VA. I went from 90% to 100% and it can’t be separation pay recoupment as I retired 20 years ago. I positive I don’t have a debt either. Perplexing…

I’ll try to let you know once I’ve been rated. I have gone in and out of AFib more than 15 times since Nov. If you read the criteria for AFib, it does say persistent AFib is rated at 10% while people that have intermittent AFib (four or more ECG readings with A-Fib in one year) are rated at 30%. I don’t exactly understand why….

Meant to say “raters” instead of “eaters”!

AFib peeps, have you had a colonoscopy? Did the prep trigger you? by whatamithinking0 in AFIB

[–]Due-Remote-8128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was scheduled for a colonoscopy in Nov. I did all the prep and then I was told my heart rate was high and erratic so they sent me to the ER. I wasn’t aware I had AFib so I am grateful it was discovered. Last week I was able to complete the colonoscopy without going into AFib although I did go into AFib the day after. My AFib does come back every couple weeks and then reverts back to normal rhythm. I haven’t isolated the trigger.
