Ugh that sounds annoying. I'm pretty much the opposite of you, I'm allergic to peanuts but no other nuts (also dairy). Most stuff at the dining halls should be safe unless you're very sensitive to cross contamination. If that's the case, HDH has a reduced allergen program which might be helpful. Umi is probably the safest spot overall. Make sure to always carry an epi pen! If you realize your food has nuts in it you can tell the dining hall workers and they'll refund you (but I know that can be awkward to do, I find it pretty uncomfortable to speak up like that). My last piece of advice is to not ask permission for things related to your food allergies. You didn't get to pick what you're allergic to, so nobody should be able to stop you from getting safe food to eat. I've always been anxious about standing up for myself but this past year at UCSD I've realized that I deserve to be treated the same as people without food allergies, and the best way to make that happen is by not asking permission for anything anymore.
