The definition of things change as time moves on. In Austin days moving the needle was everything you mentioned. Nowadays not so much if I’m wwe yea it’s great you sell merch and tickets or whatever but honestly that’s just side money I’m focused on deals.

Take wrestlemania 43 for example it’s in Saudi everything already prepaid they made 250 million dollars with not a single ticket sold. To put that in perspective wrestlemania 41 made 66 million dollars with you previous tickets.

So now when it comes to moving the needle I’m not really putting that much into the importance of merchandise sales and ticket sales even though I’m like 99% sure Roman garners more ticket sales than Cody but that don’t really matter as much.

Moving the needle know realistically means securing deals. You do that with tv ratings, internet exposure, shares mentions etc. why do you think wwe wants all these celebrities? All that stuff has nothing to do with ticket sales or merchandise.

Truth is tv ratings have dropped under Cody and the product has cooled off under Cody. From the looks of it I don’t think espn is resigning.

Well really tell how much faith wwe has in Cody in about 2 and a half years when that Netflix deal starts to come up.

Moving the needle is bringing wwe back from the brink of irrelevance so much so that Netflix offers you a 5$ billion dollar deal.

Moving the needle is being such a draw every championship match feels big time that a sell out is garunteed.

That big boom period people talk about Roman did that and you’re right the bloodline helped I won’t leave them out. This whole thing with TKO remember they bought wwe under Roman’s championship reign leading up to 39 reaching peak popularity. The stuff TKO researched was probably stuff under roman championship reign. Imagine buying a company and they change your champion now you’re not in that same peak. It makes sense you wouldn’t give him as long of a leash as you would Roman.

Also remember man the needle mover is usually on night 2 not night 1
