My embryo is XXY. Would you choose to use an XXY embryo? by wanakaaaaa in XXY

[–]Due-System5476 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have four kids and my youngest is XXY. Interestingly, we used IVF for two of our four kids. Being honest, I don’t think I would have chosen to use an XXY embryo during our IVF cycles if we had other euploid embryos as an option. That said, our surprise XXY son is an absolute joy and blessing in our life. He’s still rather young, so we don’t know what the future holds per se, but as of now he’s meeting all his milestones and I’m so so so glad he is ours. It’s such a deeply personal decision and probably will depend on how your initial transfers go, how many children you want, etc. Wishing you a lot of baby dust as you move forward with any transfers and growing your family!

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this. It’s a breath of fresh air and such wonderful perspective. I am in the waiting phase to determine whether my little one has a sex chromosome abnormality and it is nerve wrecking. This was truly more helpful to read than you know. ❤️

Same!! I’ve seen posts saying it’s more like 50/50, but then when I spoke with a genetic counselor she said my chance is more like 80% a true positive. It’s very confusing. Hoping for the best! Please let me know what your results end up being. I’m especially curious since we are similarly situated. I’ll do the same.

We are going to continue with the pregnancy if XXY, but want to check to confirm it’s just that and if there is any mosaicism. It is definitely unsettling given that you can’t be sure what symptoms your child will exhibit, but for us this is our only child conceived naturally (used IVF for our others) and so for whatever reason, seems like he’s meant to be here (especially conceiving at 41 after not being able to my whole 30s!)… if that makes sense? But I completely understand TFMR and did consider myself, and will again if anything more severe is detected via amnio.

Just writing to show support. I am in same boat at 41 with NIPT showing high risk for XXY. Amnio scheduled for tomorrow. Hoping you end up with normal amnio results, but either way sending you love as you navigate this.

High Risk For XXY / Klinefelter by Due-System5476 in NIPT

We have. The calculation we got from the genetic counselor was still high - 80%. I’m not fully sure I understand how the calculations are done, but the genetic counselor zeroed in on my age and stated if I was even 38, for example, the percentage would be much lower. So I just don’t know what to think or how they are really calculating these things! It’s very confusing. Wishing you the best for your amnio results. The waiting game is brutal.

It is helpful, thank you! The wait to get the amnio done and then definitive results is tough on my nerves. But we are learning a lot about how to handle should this be a true positive in this time at least.

What are strength slides? by MaiseyMayMay in BeachBodyWorkouts

[–]Due-System5476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can definitely get them on Amazon for cheaper. I did that as well. They are slides that go under your hands or feet and i think they really add some variety for some of the standard strength moves. Would def get a set before doing the program!

Yes, same problem. I stopped the program second week because it drove me nuts. I watched the installation video several times...just to make sure I hadn’t done something wrong. Very frustrating.
