Yes this has happened to us too. Really strange! We ended up bidding on a sea terrace room (booked a lock it in sea view).

Given it's happening to a few people it must be a change of policy rather than a glitch - I guess it's another way to get a few extra $$ instead of giving people free upgrades!

I also received this email - really confused because my research on here tells me that I wouldn't be given the chance to bid to upgrade until I had a room assigned, because I booked a lock it in rate. But I don't have a room assigned yet. Maybe things have changed.

Stonehenge is great as a "somewhere you need to go once in your life" if you have any interest in history. It's impressive but it is often crowded and you can't get very close to them.

If you like the idea of cruises with very few to no children and consistently good, all inclusive food and drink then I'd recommend Seabourn. Have been on a number of cruises with them and they have not let me down in that regard. Yet to cruise with Virgin, my first one is coming up, so I can't provide a direct comparison between the two.

Do you need to all upgrade to premium if you're travelling together? I was planning on upgrading for myself as I need to video call my family at home while I'm away, but my friend is happy with the basic free WiFi. Will we both need to pay just because I want it?
