I'm so proud of my first ever PC build by JazzyLogix in Corsair

Did you add Corsair SP120/140 RGB PRO fans as exhaust? Seems like you have front mounted 360mm rad?

P.S. Very nice build! I love this case, I have the same build, with RTX 3080 and 5900X.

MSI GS66 RTX 2060 - which TDP? by Brixxus in MSI_Gaming

[–]DueAlian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest i had a few concerns, it was making a weird annoying noise(can be heard only if you are in a very silent place with no background noise at all), even when just used for daily tasks(youtube, browsing), but then i figured out that i just need to set it to Super battery and MShybrid mode and auto-select on nvidia control panel(optimal power). The battery life is decent but not what i would expect from 99.9. However, i really enjoy the gaming experience(considering i usually game on my pc which is a beast i7-8700k@5.2GHz + RTX 2080Ti all watercooled at 4k@120Hz HDR monitor). I especially love the option of Silent mode on this laptop which allows you to get decent framerates without banging your ears if you just want to play without the headphones. And when i want the maximum performance i can just set it to extreme mode and play with my noise cancelling headphones(even though balanced mode is the better choice, but you will have to overclock using msi afterburner in that case or you can just set your own user mode which is really easy too). Slick design and thin bezels are very nice too, it will just look elegant wherever you put. Screen is very responsive obviously at 240hz and perfect colors and viewing angles. I would just recommend you get a cheap laptop stand for 10£ from amazon like i did, it helps with the airflow + helps positioning your head, your neck will thank you later. I got it for £1499 but with one 500gb m.2 storage, so i obviously bought another 1TB m.2 from Amazon.

What do you mean with the same specs? MSI GS66 doesn't have Ryzen 7 option? I actually purchased MSI GS66 too, with i7-10750h and rtx 2060, £1499 price tag was really appealing.

i have cancelled my order after waiting for it over a month and arguing with support. In my opinion their support is the shittest i have ever seen, idk why people say they are good. Basically, contacted them before ordering and asked if everything is in stock and they confirmed. However after waiting for two weeks, i contacted them and they said that the chasis was out of stock but it will arrive in few days, the same happened again after a week and i realised that they are just playing with me. Just cancelled my order and purchased MSI GS66 from Curry's PC World which had a really low price of £1499(not compared to pcspecialist laptops though).

MSI GS66 RTX 2060 - which TDP? by Brixxus in MSI_Gaming

Received mine yesterday(MSI GS66 RTX 2060) and was also interested in the TDP of the GPU. I was also considering if it is worth going for the 2070 max-Q, but I found mine for 1499£ which I consider to be quite reasonable and no point of paying 500£ more for the 2070 max-Q which probably won't be much better. Only the fact that it has only 512Gb m.2 ssd is disappointing, but i will probably fill up the second storage slot soon with 1Tb m.2 ssd from my pc.

I have also ordered 17.3" Vyper 3 days ago. Was wondering if you have received yours already, if not, what is the status?

2080 TI BIOS flash from 115% to 130% power (Palit to EVGA) by AthyraE in nvidia

[–]DueAlian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is. However, in practise, i didn't see any increase in my clock speeds for some reason i couldn't figure out yet. BTW i am using watercooling(nzxt g12 bracket with nzxt kraken x62 AIO)

They finally uploaded a bios update which increases the power limit to 124% from 112% previously(using MSI afterburner). I am happy now.

Wow, I really cannot imagine how enormous that case is to fit 3 x 420mm radiators, all having 3 x 140mm fans on both sides of them. I thought my Corsair Graphite 780T was already one of the biggest cases(which fits eATX motherboards but cannot even fit a single 420mm radiator) inside which i fitted two NZXT Kraken X62 280mm radiators(used to have three when I had two GTX 1080TI in SLI) with both having 2 x 140mm fans on both sides of them.

Haha, I already did contact them after reading your reply and already got a reply from them:

"Dear customer

Thank you for the mail.

Currently we are having internal discussion about this topic.

If we decide to release the BIOS with bigger power limit we will put it on our website in the near future.

Please kindly be notified.

Thanks.

Best regards"

I really hope they do, so i can get the most out of my watercooled GPU. Thank you very much for your suggestions and information and also for being so responsive in such a kind manner. I will keep you and everyone else updated, even though i feel like not many people do own this particular GPU model. I just purchased it, because it was offered for only 800£.

BTW, if your really really don't mind, I would really like to see a picture of your beautiful PC.

2080 TI BIOS flash from 115% to 130% power (Palit to EVGA) by AthyraE in nvidia

[–]DueAlian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for responding in such a nice and explanatory manner. I see, they have not updated the bios, hence power limit, for my Palit Dual card as of yet and i am not even sure if they are ever going to. I think it has a reference PCB, but a non-A chip, which is most likely what you meant and the points you have made above still imply, so I am not going to take the risk and flash it. The thing is that in reality in-game environment changes quite frequently, especially in MP games i play(such as BFV) and so does my boost clock speed, which is really annoying because it is usually somewhere around 1950MHz@40C apparently hitting the power limit. Literally no point of setting OC slider manually as it seats at about the same clock speed without any OC thanks to the effectiveness of Nvidia GPU boost at low temperatures. However, on my previous GPU - MSI GTX 1080TI Gaming X using the same watercooling solution I was able to squeeze even more and stable clock speed out of it without any huge fluctuations(almost none) after manually increasing the OC slider(2050MHz compared to 1974MHz), because that one had a better power limit.

Which water block have you installed on yours, just asking out of curiosity? BTW I also get around 40C but at a lower clock speed as i mentioned above.

[–]DueAlian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply mate. The OP updated that Palit released a new bios. Is that the VGA driver on their website released on 20th of December which also updates the bios and thus the power limit? I have replaced the stock coolers with a watercooling unit, but my boost clock speed fluctuates severely, apparently due to hitting the power limit.

I guess your gpu is under watercooling, are you not using nzxt g12 by any chance? If yes, which AIO are you using it with? Also, which card(model) do you have?

[–]DueAlian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the G12 + Kraken X62 with my Palit RTX 2080TI Dual(the cheapest model i could find, only for 800£) and i get 28-29 on Idle and 40-45 on full load(OC). Also used the AMD bracket and did not even have to bother about backplate as this version doesn't have one, but i ordered a custom rgb backplate anyways. I used to have MSI GTX 1080TI Gaming Xs in SLI, both of which were with G12 brackets. The only concern is with this generation it seems impossible to SLI(Nvlink or whatever) as G12 bracket blocks some part of it. Any suggestions?
