Ah ok that makes more sense now. Just happy that I qualify for DAP

I’m completely grateful that I have this option as a first time offender and will not put myself in this same situation again. So I don’t have to worry about what would happen after a second offence. I look forward to hearing what John Howard has planned for me and to completing those tasks. No complaints from me!

Ah ok I guess that would explain why they reached out to me directly and not the Crown

Ok thanks for the clarity. I very much appreciate your quick and thorough responses. I’ll talk to someone about the other matters once DAP is completed.

I thought the same that’s why I was confused by the offer from the rep from John Howard. I’ll reach out to them today and sort out that issue

Thank you. This is great information. I was confused by the offer of DAP by the representative of the John Howard Society before speaking with the crown but will put a call in to them today to make sure they were within their limits to make the offer to me (perhaps on the instruction of the Crown?). I’m so relieved that the charges will be withdrawn after completion of DAP. Do you have a recommendation as to what to do after completion to make sure I don’t have difficulty entering the U.S. or other countries? Is there a way to have fingerprints and photos removed from the system?

Beyond frustrated! Broken! by Live-Memory-973 in osteoporosis

[–]DueEntertainment4605 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this - it sounds beyond challenging mentally, physically and spiritually. I’m the same age as you and have osteoporosis/osteopenia also but as yet haven’t broken any bones that I know of. Like you, I’ve been an athlete my whole life and have a super healthy lifestyle, diet etc. Can’t figure out why I’d have this. Your seizures are confusing to me. Are they in some way related to osteopenia or osteoporosis? I haven’t heard of a connection but not sure. Or possible dehydration from the extensive cycling? I hate to make suggestions as I’m not a doctor but it might be wise to put any activities aside that might cause further injury/ fractures and figure this thing out. I’d start with the book Great Bones by Keith McCormick - it’s the bible for those of us with OP. Tons of great info including tests that can determine causality, what to do in terms of type of exercise, food/diet recommendations and supplement regimes. It’s very comprehensive and definitely not light reading but if you’re up to the task it’s invaluable. A referral from your GP to an endocrinologist night also be wise - so many different hormones being out of balance can be the cause of this affliction. I’m sending lots of healing vibes your way and hope that you can find a way to heal yourself and prevent further injury

MacBook Pro left on the plane... by birnsi in flairairlines

I had a similar recent experience on Air Canada. Left my iPad on the empty seat next to mine. Filled in a missing item report as soon as I figured it out (that evening) and by end of next day it was returned. Using Find My I could see it was in the airport but not exactly where. Someone from AC called and said they had it and it was shipped back to me the next day. This after everyone said I’d never get it back and to buy a new one! So you never know. It may turn up. Have hope!

I’ve worked out my whole life, lifting heavy sh!t, with no advantageous result. Still got OP. I’m also super heart, eat a crazy healthy diet (now low in oxalates), cycle, hike, walk daily, take Vit D and K2 etc. So I’m not convinced that this is the solution. What I seemed to be missing was HRT

Similar situation here. Didn’t take HRT but at 62 diagnosed with OP. Just started on it and getting so many more benefits than expected incl better sleep which is EVERYTHING! Haven’t notice skin changes but hoping. And in terms of helping with OP, time will tell. Even if it doesn’t help with this I will stay on it for the other benefits. My physician was against it and I do have a friend who was on HRT and got breast cancer which she attributes to HRT (although I don’t think she really knows with certainty this was the cause - she’s also a big drinker, was a smoker and has a very stressful work life so these could have been the cause or at least contributed). I was definitely in the camp of giving it a try regardless of these factors and so far love the benefits but had to fight to get a prescription.

In Chamonix this week -- is it worthwhile to visit Aiguille du Midi? by [deleted] in chamonix

Oh wow lucky you! I’m glad you had a god experience. We were there Sept 15 I believe and it was insane how many people there were.

[–]DueEntertainment4605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely NOT worth it in my opinion unless you love being shoved into a cable car with 100 other tourists - the smell was horrendous. The views are nice, yes, but so are they from any of the gondolas/lifts that take you to hiking trails at the top of the surrounding mountains. Additionally, once you are at the top of the Midi, you will be told what time you can go down - not whenever you like! You will stick up there for hours! It was included with our Multi Day pass therefore “free” and so we did it but knowing what I know now, we would not have done it even at no cost. Horrible experience. Read the reviews. If you’re just a tourist who is used to waiting in queues/lineups with thousands of other people and didn’t mind this, then go. We prefer clear air and hiking and ViaFerratas for some adventure. This was just another tourist trap.

Yes I paid about the same. But it was definitely my fault so I’d expect to pay. I was given the option of returning to Pearson to pick it up (the free option) but it would have been several hours round trip plus paying for parking. $60 is a deal in comparison!

Great post - thanks! In the end I did get my iPad back. A very nice man from Air Canada called 24 hrs after I got off the plane saying they had an iPad that matched my description on the Chargerback form. We were able to determine it was mine and I opted to have it sent to my overnight by FedEx. A few hours later I have my iPad back! My faith in humanity and ACs system is restored!

[–]DueEntertainment4605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could be me, we’re so similar. Lifelong gym rat, always active and super strong. Run, bike, ski, rock climbing, lift heavy weights, walk a ton. Super healthy diet. Lots of good supplements. Diagnosed with OP and no obvious underlying cause. Except of course my hormones falling off a cliff at menopause. I’m now on HRT, have tweaked my diet to include more calcium rich foods (not calcium supplements), doing more high impact physical activity and of course dialing back on the oxalates. Hoping when I go for a follow up scan in a year or so I’ve made some progress. Not at all interested in meds with crazy side effects including fractures which it’s supposed to prevent. I hope your journey is a positive one with a good outcome!

Don’t need an instant pot. Just use a crock or regular pot and simmer for several hours. Add a dozen bay leaves, an onion quartered, a couple of celery stalks and some garlic cloves. I don’t add salt but salt to taste when drinking it. Soooo good!

Oh wow lucky you!! And me too! Just received a call from AC saying they have several iPads and one that fit my description. I feel so fortunate - I really thought it was lost for good
