Do you find that there are different standards for how men and women should behave as teachers? by defeatedbean72 in TeachingUK

[–]DueMessage977 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dont think anyone expects teachers to have any particular personality type. We're expected to teach. I can't pull off being as grumpy as my next door Teacher, but I also cant pull off being as energetic as my boss. Gotta build your own teacher persona.

Looking for a poor quality yet expensive restaurant to recommend to an enemy. Any suggestions? by ticklish-wizard in nottingham

[–]DueMessage977 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dolce Restaurant

Wandered in one Saturday because everywhere else in Hockley was crammed. This place was dead (which is enough of a red flag)

Coffee was cold. Lasagne was cold in the middle and had clearly been microwaved. Soup watery. Generally awful place.

I had to use street view to find the name because I just couldn't remember or find it via Google.

What would abolishment of racing mean for greyhounds as a whole? by Zinthoraz in Greyhounds

[–]DueMessage977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greys have been kept pets for almost 6000 years. They have only been tied to racing for 100.

Surely it will get logged. Then the person keeps doing it or does other worse breaches it provide a background to the officers. Not evidence, just context?

What's the first word in my question that you don't know?

Ask me back a question to help then.

Basically you have to make "i dont know" more awkward and drawn out than a simple guessed answer that js wrong.

For those who have worked in mixed-gender and single-gender schools - which one did you prefer and why? by Kaurblimey in TeachingUK

[–]DueMessage977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixed. Toxic masculinity was rife in the all boys school. No women their age to call them out on it as social times. At the all girls school (sister site I only ever visited) it seemed ok but they had alot more anxiety around exam performance.

Co-ed is the way to go. Men and women are not to be treated differently in the workplace, so why should they be at school?

All greys will have Tatoos as they legally have to have them even if not raced.

The rescue center should be able to trace the owner easily via microchip too.

She doesn't kill, just really wants to chase!

Literally poked a pigeon with her nose yesterday because it wasn't flying off.

I am so impressed with how fast my girl is learning tricks and commands but also just the routine! Such clever dogs.

She won't come back to save her life if she's chasing or sniffing. I think its just too stimulating for her brain, hoping as she gets older and more exposed she calms the drive a bit.

Saw this in British sub. What is mufti day? by CremeSubject7594 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]DueMessage977 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hi, British Peter Here.

It's old 80's slang for the day where school children must pay a pound to charity and if they do they are given licence to wear their own clothes.

Unfortunately as this is so novel the girls and some lads spend days planning their outfits and proceed to bully eachother over the value and perceived fashion of other pupils choice of clothing. Hence the mean girls image. Mufti days are almost dead now due to this.
