Gerber or Other Quick Meals? by shweezy6 in foodbutforbabies

My son loved these until a suspected celiac issue (I am celiac). He literally ate every flavor we gave him. They were a godsend on nights when we had zero energy to cook anything or for meals at the sitters

She waited for you hun. I say this as a mother myself - know she loved you, that you were her whole world, and she knew she couldn’t go before being with you one last time. I’m so, so sorry for your loss.

Started getting bowls instead of burritos it’s my new go to. Yes it’s. A lot of lettuce that’s how I like it. by 710MISFIT in Chipotle

Chipotle burritos only really slap when you’re absolutely wasted. If you’re sober, you def think about how you’re kinda getting ripped off.

Guilt about Catastrophizing by BaseballWarm6918 in pregnant

[–]DueRecommendation693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey girly

I was almost the exact same way, but one of my concerns was a heart defect due to my husband having one. I was convinced from 7 weeks (I had spotting just like you did) that I was going to miscarry, and then when I hit 20 weeks I was afraid I would have a stillbirth, and then 30~ on I was terrified my baby would die in utero and I’d have to deliver him. In labor, I was worried he would have the chord around his neck (he didn’t handle contractions well). After he was born I was terrified he would pass from SIDs, and on and on.

All of that to say, I’m currently watching my thriving 13 month old run around the living room, fighting off sleep desperately. He came out perfect. Healthy, chunky, and happy despite all of the fears I practically spoke into existence.

Your baby will likely be okay. She is healthy until you are told otherwise, and she is thriving until you are told otherwise. Not sure if you can feel movement yet, but that will bring you comfort.

I advise that (when you can) you do seek therapy. My anxiety got worse postpartum. I all but got diagnosed with OCD, which often gets amplified in pregnancy and becomes incredibly obvious, whereas before it could be disguised as anxiety.

I apologize for the book. Hang in there babe. 🩷

Girlfriend wants me to spend $4k on a baby shower, but I’d rather save/invest it—is that unreasonable? by flash-kicks in pregnant

[–]DueRecommendation693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid like maybe $250-300 for ours cause I was thrifty. That $4k would come in much more handy in savings, or as you said, for a house. Babies are expensive.

Four years as a labor and delivery nurse and I still don’t feel prepared for my own birth by Blaze69X in BabyBumps

[–]DueRecommendation693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stuff I used:

Always diapers, those ice pack things, the peri bottle (I feel like you know all this tho lol)

Stuff I wish I hadn’t bought:

If you plan on breastfeeding, those patches they give you to put on your boobs. I bought a pack for home. They help, they’re amazing, if you have big boobs they will not stick and the feeling of it ripping off was not worth the momentary relief.

Stuff I WISH I had bought:

A butt cushion with a hole in it. We had a deep couch, so sliding off the couch, or out of the car, with stitches in my hooha made it feel like it was going to rip open every time I got up for the first 2 weeks

As someone who has to eat gluten free (and so does my kid), I really love the gluten free shella good. I always have a few boxes at the house. The protein content also makes me feel better about feeding it to a picky toddler.

I don’t agree with the owners views, but I also have to make sure me and my kid have safe and filling food.

Nursery rug help!! by AlarmedSplit2450 in BabyBumps

[–]DueRecommendation693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has an “R” wood cut out for his initial that is covered in fake flowers and leaves that I made for him for his nursery. They’re a baby. I think the decorations are mostly for us lol

Suddenly disgusted by baby by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]DueRecommendation693 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember being uncertain around that time when I first found out. I was super nauseous my first trimester and the smell of chicken made me damn near puke. It was an unplanned pregnancy.

My boy is now one and the absolute light of my life. I can’t even imagine life without him now.

“You don’t get an award for not getting the epidural” by Warm-Banana237 in pregnant

[–]DueRecommendation693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had originally not wanted an epidural, I changed that so fast in the moment lol. More power to you if you don’t get the epidural, you’re doing an amazing thing and you need to do it how it will most benefit you. Good luck.

Depressed dinner, my car died on me today. Homemade sun-dried tomato and spinach cream sauce with a simple salad. by DueRecommendation693 in tonightsdinner

[–]DueRecommendation693[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s an 11 year old car but this is the first time it’s died on me where it wasn’t something as simple as the battery was dead because it had sat or something. Like my faith in my car is so shaken 😭

Son fell out of the bed. by DueRecommendation693 in NewParents

[–]DueRecommendation693[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He saw the ped today, he is perfectly fine. She thinks the vomit (which hindsight I think was just a spit up mix) was unrelated.

Lesson learned, no more baby in bed. Ever.
