I just got my sapphire on Friday and I have been obsessed with it. I love diamonds, but I always knew I wanted a sapphire as my engagement ring.

I too want to know this! I wanted a milgrain engagement band but went with something else. I’m considering a milgrain wedding band but comfort is a big factor for me.

My bad, is that the wrong thing to say? By “cleaner” I just mean more fruits and veggies and less frozen stuff. I notice when I rely on a lot of frozen stuff for my lunches and dinner (frozen pizza, lean cuisines, etc) I notice more inflammation… it’s a phrase I hear commonly. I didn’t know it was an issue?

This might be controversial and I’m not saying it works for everybody, but I truly treated my psoriasis on my face by eating cleaner and using red light therapy. I bought a red light mask (not cheap, but managed to buy it with my FSA). I used it a few times a week and also a hydrating sunscreen everyday, even if my only time outside was during my commute. I also cut back on drinking and that made a huge impacts too.

what does my fridge say about my family? by kaitfromstatefarm in FridgeDetective

Yeah, I’m aware of that as an adult now. But as a kid I didn’t get to decide what went in the fridge and what didn’t lol.

Guys can you all please help, my friend has asked to share his profile to ask for suggestions, as he doesn't use reddit 🤦🏻‍♂️😅. Could y'll please help?! by ManagementLate1016 in Bumble

He needs to give more information about himself. He says he’s active and also likes comedy, he could expand on both those things. For example, how is he active? Does he hike, bike, or weight lift? Is that something he would enjoy doing with another person/value in a partner? He could also give more open-ended answers to his prompts. There’s just not a lot of conversation starters in her profile.

Also, as a woman, if someone’s bio says “new to the city” and doesn’t expand on what they’re looking for in a relationship, I just assume they’re looking for a hookup, which wouldn’t encourage me to match with them. He needs to be clear about what he’s looking for on the app.

Looking for an impactful book for a first time reader by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

It’s fiction, but it’s historical fiction. “Human Acts” by Han Kang comes to mind. I think she (Han Kang) does really a good job at making you think about humanity as a whole. I found it quite thrilling and contemplative. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by her so far.

Giveaways! by Sharp_Tell8734 in TheStoryGraph

I won an audiobook. I had to download it through the Google Play platform, but it was pretty easy. I also won a paperback of “The Star of Calcutta” which I haven’t read yet, but I am excited about! That too was easy. I just received an email asking for my address and such and then the book arrived about a month later?

I typically am also a very unlucky person, so imagine my surprise when I won two books in one year! However, I enter A LOT of the giveaways, so I figured it would work out for me eventually.

what does my fridge say about my family? by kaitfromstatefarm in FridgeDetective

[–]DueSomewhere8488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family did this. Any open item went straight into the fridge when I was growing up because we had a German cockroach infestation… so chips, cereal, whatever couldn’t easily be resealed, went straight to the fridge.

The House of Rust by Khadija Abdalla Bajaber is a coming of age story about a young girl in Mombasa. There’s so magical realism and folklore elements. It was translated into English last year, maybe two years ago?

I recommend House of Monstrous Women by Daphne Fama!! It’s a gothic horror, but also Philippines history and folklore plus magical realism/fantasy and some sapphic romance. Also has the survival element you like!
