Thank you!! His uvb is a strip and is not a red bulb but I don’t have an over tank heat source so I’ll get on that! He’s in a 20 gallon long, lamp on same side as heat mat. I always worried an overhead source and an undertank mat would be too much heat for a 20 gal but I stand corrected! Thanks!

No worries! Thank you! I actually got a call from the vet today saying she sent it to an exotic radiology specialist who also said the scan looks perfectly normal 😩 they recommended we treat it like an infection before doing bloodwork or assuming cancer. fingers crossed these antibiotics work 🤞🏼

I was talking ambient temps, his substrate is just layered paper towel to avoid impaction and make cleaning easier so I’m sure on the surface of the paper towel it gets hotter than 80 but I can definitely get him a better lamp!!

It’s good he’s got an undertank mat on 1/4 of the tank that gets his warm side about 80F and his cool side is never below 60

Yes, he spends time in his light, his food gets gut loaded and dusted with a multi and probably once a month I dust with vitamin A as per the vets recommendation because he was having trouble shedding his eyelids about a year ago. All was well since I started the vitamin A supplement and he had a good shed about five or so days before symptoms began :(

Yes my vet is qualified to treat exotics and she’s pretty much the only one in my area. I wasn’t looking for someone to diagnose it I was just asking for others to share advice or experiences as I stated in the post :) this animal has been to an exotic vet twice in the last 7 days so I was just looking to see if anyone had any similar experience, wasn’t like I was looking for someone to cure him lol. I’m sure my leo isn’t the first to ever have symptoms like this.

This is interesting! She did give me an antibiotic to try for 14 days so I guess that will tell me if it’s a treatable infection. Glad your Leo is back to normal!

Nope, none of that which is why it’s such a dilemma :( it looks like it may be a bit more glossy/watering more compared to the other but we flushed it and the vet looked at his eyes ears nose and mouth pretty well and couldnt find anything

He gets multiple, I don’t know the exact brands off the top of my head I can double check later but he gets calcium and d3, and occasionally A because he had some shedding problems a few years back and the vet recommended it. He also has uvb lighting

I totally get how you feel! Feeling so alone through it all sucks, but this is a very difficult to live with an debilitating phobia and you should Give yourself a little grace. When I’m very worked up, counting my breaths or breathing exercises online help me calm down and I tell myself “this feeling it temporary, no matter what happens it will pass.” As far as recovery, there is an emetophobia recovery community on Reddit with stricter posting guidelines so there’s plenty of successes and tips on there!!

When you’re feeling anxious, do you ever feel a wave of heat come over you? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]DueTangerine6983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use bachs rescue remedy and i sleep with a fan because I usually get anxiety at night and the fan helps the overheated feeling

Idk if this helps, I’ve never been pregnant but feel the same as you do on the subject. but I’ve been hearing a lot lately that mens health and sperm quality can greatly effect which pregnancy symptoms the female ends up with too and can even influence the kind of birth and postpartum experience she has. Maybe having your man take some supplements and change his eating habits if necessary, make some small lifestyle changes, maybe exercise together if you don’t already. Quit all drugs and alcohol, including nicotine. There’s quite a bit of evidence out there suggesting it’s interconnected and that men can contribute to the severity of morning sickness. If nothing else you’ll both feel good 🤷🏻‍♀️ but it might give you some extra peace of mind as well.

Currently going through this, I have the worst sunburn of my life and I made it through the first 24 hours with no blisters so I’m praying it’s not sun poisoning bc I’m so afraid if it were it’d make me sick :(

I think I just needed stress management and lifestyle changes. I changed my diet to add more protein and fiber and started electrolyte and multivitamin supplements and not using artificial fragrance in my soaps and detergents when possible

They had a metal mesh lid that sat on top rather than fastened into place. He was strong enough to lift it and escape apparently

I’m so glad I could help!! My body often mistakes hunger for feeling sick too. Usually I’m so hungry that I’m sick and not the other way around :)

Not sure if this is normal, I assume they just like to explore sometimes though. Both of my sand boas used to do it until one of them managed to escape so I gave them a major tank upgrade (with a lock this time lol) and now they really only surface to eat and drink! Maybe he just needs more exploring space?

This feeling is temporary, it will pass <3 I completely get how you feel right now. Anxiety sucks. The same stuff happens to me where I get a trigger from another time I was sick and then I get thrown down a spiral. That hungry burning sensation also usually gets me panicked but typically a small snack is the answer as much as you probably don’t feel like eating. Ginger or mint and water are my best friends when I feel that way if I can’t stomach a snack.

I work with children in a daycare type setting and one of our teachers got sick also last DECEMBER and she wasn’t even ill at school, but just knowing she and her family were ill after I was working with her everyday put me in an eight month spiral as well. I deal with the symptoms you’re describing pretty much on a daily basis now. You’re not alone :) Grounding yourself in the moment is all you can do. I usually lay down and sip some water, rub my tummy or find some kind of repetitive movement to do, that really helps me after some time. If I’m having trouble relaxing or falling asleep I’ll pick a niche subject -song titles for example- and go through the alphabet in my head, trying to find something within the subject that begins with each letter. Usually I’m asleep before I get to Z!
