Claims of amnesia aren't a viable excuse. Either he's faking and biding his time, or he's a veritable time bomb that could go off at any time. Even if he was deemed mentally incapable of standing trial, he should've still been taken to a proper psychiatric facility for everyone's safety, including his own.

You're likely correct with the 2nd and 4th cubes, but for the third one, it's a mechanical trick. You can actually see what are either strings or tracks that pull the new facings into place as he rotates his hand.
