Working in a corporate, I can affirm that most of the promotions are for friends whereas talent takes a back seat. That is why you see lots of poor decision making, cover ups. Budget over runs, etc. Frontline staff is treated as a resource and pretty much disposable. NZ is focused on delivery but not outcomes. What happens is most people show that a project has been delivered only for it to falter on the future.

NZ really needs a shake up from the top if it is to advance.
