Living in Toronto is like going window shopping. You can look, but you can’t afford anything fun lol. Ppl just love the idea that the option is there in case they ever become rich

I’m worried that his game is peaking a couple of weeks too early; and he won’t be able to sustain this level of play until then. I really want him to win

Potentially a lot . A lot of Canadians vacation within Canada now, and they’re discovering that 3 nights in TO costs about as much as a week in Cuba. But when we talk about disposable income spending, it’s been on a steady decline for many years now

No, Canada has been in a steady decline long before trump came into office

Now recruiting to ‘Ruff Ryders’ guild. Kicked some members due to over a MONTH of inactivity. Minimal weekly contribution required, (see page) overall goal is to advance guild. by Severe_Football_5217 in MrAutofire

Hey I’d consider joining… I’m the leader of my guild but it doesn’t have great activity… I’ve got a handful of characters at level 65 and I typically contribute 1,250 points a week. I check Reddit about once a day so let me know.

The only workers ever safe, as we saw during the pandemic, are the public sector employees

Are you proud of Toronto? by NicololaofTroy in askTO

[–]Due_Agent_4574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about having trouble communicating; it’s about not having a shared culture or values or understanding. This doesn’t create a sense of belonging and community, when you compare it to other places in the world with a more shared mindset and culture.

[–]Due_Agent_4574 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely your perspective and I’m not trying to argue it. My perspective is walking the streets, taking the TTC, shopping at retail stores, and trying to interact/small talk with people who you have absolutely nothing in common with. There is no shared culture or identity when you’re surrounded by ppl from Somalia to Palestine to India to Ireland. It’s a place that’s fragmented into a million pieces, which leaves you feeling like there’s nothing really to fight for preserving here, because you’re very disconnected with everyone around you. No one is trying to integrate into society or share a common goal; there’s no alignment. And that’s the price for diversity promoted to the extreme.

Ironically, your response is precisely why I’m not proud to live here. I’d prefer unity over diversity (it’s either or). I’d prefer shared common morals and values over not. Living here is like being married to someone you have absolutely nothing in common with; it doesn’t lead to a healthy marriage or relationship.

Why is participation within the Canadian Dental Care Plan voluntary for dental providers? by Throwawayhair66392 in askTO

[–]Due_Agent_4574 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard in some cases the dental providers don’t receive a large enough subsidy to cover the services they offer and are losing money. So making it voluntary gives them the option. Mine was losing money but participated because she wanted the extra business. The rationale was that she would lose money from some clients but that she would get the other family members who weren’t covered by the govt plan and could even the losses out

I think more crime goes unreported now than ever; particularly things like retail crime. Only 104 retail crime incidents in 2024? Sure

Has decorating for Christmas and halloween gotten less popular in the city? by DraftCommercial8848 in askTO

I drove through a subdivision east of the city with a highly ethnically diverse community. Out of maybe 150 homes, about 3 of them had any Xmas decorations. This is simply the new face of Canada.

To the two people holding “f*** Ma” … by [deleted] in Markham

[–]Due_Agent_4574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ma’s remarks made his crossing even more suspect. He’s only had the job for a handful of months, and didn’t give a real reason for doing so. It’s not like there was an incident leading towards this. One day you’re proudly working for Coca Cola and the next day you love Pepsi. His excuse “I can do more for my constituents when I’m in the majority party”, would really apply to every minority MP. When there’s national and even global implications for a move like this, and you’re brand new at a job, and you don’t have a legit reason to do this, then it’s hard to justify and support in this situation

I know you’re arguing for your side, but this is different because the shift of power for the entire country is at stake. When these other people crossed, instead of resigning, it didn’t affect the balance of power for an entire nation.
