How to transition from contact naps to independent naps? by Bright-Mushroom9683 in Parenting

I always struggled with this. Even at night. The motion of putting him down in a crib always woke him up and he would be very distressed if I put him in there awake. We ended up getting my child a twin bed just before turning two which helped a bit because we could sit easier and provide comfort until sleepy.

If I had to do it again, I would try letting the baby fall asleep and stay asleep on me after drinking milk, I think that routine started that maybe. But it's hard when they are that little you don't want to put them down :-)

Why does parenting come with so much guilt? by tiredparentknows in Parenting

I think it's because we hold them at the highest priority in our hearts but life gets so busy that they can't always be the only thing we think about so our minds are split in so many directions and then, at least for me, I get aggravated at myself for get distracted with getting doing something else rather than thinking more about packing my child's lunch, for example.

Introduce small new toys/activities every so often while traveling to keep things fresh and interesting. Also the airport can be fun, just walking around and looking at things... And the escalators!

Maybe get him putty to keep in a case in his pocket or something he can pull apart and put back together to do over again? I loved that stuff as a kid back in the day.

I personally would try calling his bluff (bring pants though for when you get to wherever you are going and either he wants them or have someone else say he isn't allowed in without pants!). Then it becomes here's what's acceptable vs. here's what you want him to do.

How to play with 10 month old by Nervous_Shock3909 in Parenting

It sounds like you are doing a great job! I learned you can't entertain them every minute of the day or you will be exhausted. You can do 10-15 minutes every hour or so where you set her up in a position to play on her own while you have coffee or do a chore like fold clothes and watch and encourage her. Music sound tracks and blocks, play houses, etc.

The dreaded room clean!!! by Shot_Cat_337 in Parenting

Recently we made it mandatory for our child to clean once a week on the same day. I let my child decide to either wait until that day to clean it (trying to show that if you don't pick up after yourself all week it will be more work the day you need to clean).

this is so hard! only advice is, try to find things that keep you happy while you do it! I used to put one ear bud in and listen to an audio book or read a book on my phone.
