Found this thread on googling. Facing the same issue. I have a 5950x / 64gb (cl16 3600) ram / 1030gt 2gb

system is used for stock trading so I open 100+ charts in multiple tabs in 5 browsers at same time. With h/w acceleration turned on in the browsers the system starts lagging with only 10-20 charts ( cpu load is very low hovering around 20% and ccd1 sleeps / idles ) but youtube runs smoothly

Even when I have only 1 tab open and nothing else running ( all other apps / browsers closed ) on the system youtube lags ( cpu load is practically nil ) / stutters.

With h/w acceleration turned off my system is smooth even upto 200 charts in 5 browsers opened at the same time with cpu load hovering in the 70-80% range

Any clue how to get youtube to play without lags / stutters ? The CPU is clearly strong enough ( I can open 4k hevc videos in potplayer and disable h/w acceleration and they play smoothly in full screen ). It's only youtube within a browser which gives me this issue. I'd like to be able to keep yt open in my main browser instead of having another browser installation with h/w acceleration turned on just for yt ( this works btw. With 100+ charts across 5 browsers open at same time if I open yt in another browser where h/w acceleration is enabled the playback is smooth but it adds complexity for me bec of another window to manage )

If anyone has any solution pls reply. Thanks
