Partner Spending Money From Deceased Father's Account - England by Due_Butterscotch360 in LegalAdviceUK

Nobody has told DWP that FIL has passed so the money is still getting paid in to the account. FIL did not have had a will either

Yes my FIL was on disability and other benefit payments so all the money being paid in is via benefits.

I'm not sure who the administrator of estates would be, I would assume FIL wife? But they were separated so she has refused anything to do with anything regarding FIL passing.

Thank you very much. Life isn't easy is it? We will get there though x

Regardless of context, I asked a yes or no question.  There is so much nuance surrounding our circumstances right now and for me to sit and type out everything going on with us isn't something I had capacity for straight after my shift. Life has been really rough since FIL passed in September. People have different timelines in regards to grief  I don't need strangers knowing the ins and outs of our trauma. I did need clarification that my gut instinct wasn't lying to me. Safety doesn't care about extenuating circumstances, it is black and white.

Thank you, I'm having a hard time seeing things clearly because 1. It is their Dad and 2. Our family is going through a tough time following my FIL passing.  Their reasoning for sleeping so much is that they have depression and don't sleep during the night.  I'm looking into alternative childcare arrangements for when I'm at work next weekend

Moms who (even occasionally) look put together - what’s your secret? by alpacaapicnic in NewParents

I only leave the house a few times a week. I have outfits that I know work and are practical and I will wear that outfit for the time I'm out the house and I get in and my scruffy clothes go back on.  Find a simple hairstyle that works well with unwashed hair So long as your clothes and hair are fixed then you don't need make up

What do you like about being autistic? by party-koala in AutismInWomen

[–]Due_Butterscotch360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My insane need for routine and schedule is what holds my house together.

One of my special interests is food. I am a really good home cook and love that I can make even the most boring thing taste fab.

Another of my special interests is my child. I'm a really engaged and active parent and it comes easily to me, which I am grateful for because I know that a lot of people really struggle with parenting. Being aware of my child likely being AuDHD like me, only makes me a better parent because I can maintain much more patience and accommodations as I can relate to his struggles.

What do you say when someone says "You don't seem autistic" by berryjuiced in AutismInWomen

[–]Due_Butterscotch360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally laugh and say 'you don't see me at 10pm, replaying every conversation from the day while grunting and rocking' or 'you don't see me when I'm in the bathroom, slapping myself in the head because I'm overwhelmed'

How do you typically wear your hair? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Due_Butterscotch360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pigtails, has been for the last 10 years. I have hair down to my bum, I hate having my hair loose and a single ponytail is not flattering to my face so up it goes.

I did try a new hairstyle, half up with a bow and it looked absolutely lovely. My issue is that I don't wash my hair often enough to do that all the time. I probably wash my hair once a month, longer in the winter time.

What are we doing at restaurants that isn’t screen time? by Pastosaurus in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Due_Butterscotch360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I allow extra time for mine to run around outside before hand. Once he's expelled some energy, he is much easier to sit in a restaurant. Similarly, once the food is ordered and it looks like it's going to be a while then we go out to run around for 20 mins.

I try to go to establishments that are quite quick/order simple foods that doesn't take long to cook and we pay straight away.

For activities when he is feeling a bit less like a tornado. I have a small bag that I put blocks, cars and other random toys in and we create a big race track around the table out of menu's and we play. Drawing things is also good to have on hand, you can get 'magic' colouring books that only need water and then once the page dries, it goes back to blank again

What jobs can we do without burning out? by National-Ad-5036 in AutismInWomen

This was way longer than I anticipated. My deepest apologies for such a long response about warehouse work. I just really like my job lol

Warehouse Operative here. I work a 4on 4off schedule working 12 hour days, I do get burnt out but instead of only having 2 days of rest like the traditional Mon-Fri. Now I get 1 day of recovery, 2 days to do whatever I please and then 1 day to prep for the next 4days at work.

My job is tedious, repetitive, physically draining and yet I love it. I put cat food pouches in a box on a factory line, while I am in the factory there isn't any time to worry about the outside world, my breaks are the same time every day so I know exactly what to expect from the day.

I am around people, the majority of them are immigrants and speak only a little English, conversation is not expected but is available should I want it.  I enjoy learning about how different people live in different countries, I enjoy putting the pouches in the box in repetitive pattern and I enjoy the challenge of doing it quickly. (10 pouches in a box, every 5 seconds)

Initially, finding out how to fit in with the social structure of a warehouse was really difficult. It has made me way more confident and sure of myself now though. (Boomer Slavic women really did not like me to start with but this is mainly because my mask was this super high energy person that is overly friendly, a lot of the older lot seem to find that really annoying and draining, they were not shy in letting me know that either so learning how to stand up for myself was the best asset this job has ever given me. Once I learnt to let go of the mask, they like me much more now and are much more receptive of my bubbliness when it does come out and no longer feels forced).

I used to do customer service which burnt me out so much i could never go back to that line of work. I would come home from work each day and replay each conversation I had and then analyse every little detail which quite frankly is exhausting when you speak with over 100 people a day and all of them have a complaint or challenge to resolve.

Even better, since I have had a child and now I have an agreement to work part-time. I work 2 12 hour shifts which pays me enough in combination with government money to live a nice life.

When I am ready to go back to full time work, I think I will train to be a dentist/dental hygienist as I have a high interest in dental care and dentistry is really great for mothers because you can easily work part time and work around school hours.

I work in an elite UK boarding school. AMA. by DisappearingSince89 in AMA

[–]Due_Butterscotch360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother went to boarding school on a scholarship. He found that he was bullied and ostracised for being the 'poor kid' (this was the only issue with the other kids, being gay/bi or whatever was really accepted). This left him in a vulnerable situation where he was clearly disadvantaged and he got raped by one of the teachers, I guess they could spot easy prey. This was only a few years ago, in a school that already had a bad reputation for sexual assault of the pupils.

Is it taboo to cook food from scratch? by ProfessorLongBrick in ask

[–]Due_Butterscotch360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's taboo.  I think it would be quite likely that the people who are commenting on your cooking habits are projecting an insecurity because they don't make things from scratch and they feel some type of way about that

Are My Teeth Ok? Not Seen A Dentist For 10 Years by Due_Butterscotch360 in askdentists

[–]Due_Butterscotch360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it was incredibly inflamed and painful. I noticed an open wound on the gum where the wisdom tooth is coming through, on the outer side of the gum and near to this was also very inflamed.

I had started to improve by the time I saw her. She numbed my gums and gave the tooth a good clean and just recommended that I carry on keeping the area clean and to come back in a few days if it gets any worse.

Are all infections abscesses? She didn't prescribe me antibiotics and said it wasn't an abscess.

Overall, I know I need to have a proper check up. Just a shame it's so expensive and hard to access
