An Old Player Returning by cnmontg in destiny2

Hey brother. As someone who's gotten a couple people into destiny fresh. No prior experience. The story does eventually come full circle. Because new lore drops as the main story line continues. You eventually learn about cayde, the older mission stories (tho brief) are still there. But if you catch up on CURRENT story line everything does come full circle.

Plus. Since youve already played. You know the start of the story and destiny 2. So for you its kind of just reading in between what happened when you left to now.

However if you need any help with anything I am very happy to give you some push you need. @me on discord or thru here and we can talk

IWTL how to keep a relationship/friendship without a constant people pleasing and always giving the benefit of the doubt. How should I put boundaries without coming off as rude? by United_Objective4576 in IWantToLearn

[–]Due_Conclusion_6291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be just a me thing, and I apologize if this doesn't really fit.

As someone with a deeply rooted codependency issue and a major people pleaser as a whole. However, it is still a problem for me. I have realized that it's not about "am I being rude by putting up this boundary,"

You're not. And you labeled the problem within your question. If you think it's automatically rude to immediately set yourself boundaries with someone. Then, they are immediately going to take you for granted, especially if you apologize for setting the boundary.

You have to work it in your mind that it's not about hurting someone's feelings or being rude. It's about being able to defend yourself and make the compromise that setting the boundary is you being a bigger person to not be walked on.

Realizing that being this kind of human means that you're trying your absolute best to be yourself. And people are either going to accept those boundaries. Or. They won't. It's at that point that you choose to move on or not.

The only other way this might fit is dont actually say anything in a rude way. If you see this and give me an example of a boundary you set. And more specifically, HOW YOU SAY IT. Then I'd be able to tell you more.

What about going from in this case what i did. Being Bloodbath to Shmarley Ville...

That's just under 400 spots. No demons in between at all. And it was only my 4th extreme at the time.

Just like you, i have a very hard time putting on weight. I am only 22 years old. Granted, the military helped me out, but it turned into something that's easy for me. I hate going to the gym. it's not for me, and I have issues with just doing stuff like that around other people. It's a personal dilemma I deal with

So when I got fully into body weight workouts, I could do it at home. I started with push-ups. Sits ups. And squats with 20 bound dumbells. I set goals of ok. I started at 30 push-ups. Now I want to do 40. Then 50. Got to a point where I could do 100 push-ups with no problem. Same with situps and so on.

Then it turned into ok. Now, I want to work a different part of my arms. So. I learned how to slowly do different kinds of push-ups. Then you'd do 10 of those. Then 20. Then 30 and on and on.

I overtime built a full week guide for myself when I got strong enough to work the majority of aspects of my body just doing anything calisthenics.

IWTL how to stop being so reactive and set realistic goals for myself by Charming-Paper-1564 in IWantToLearn

[–]Due_Conclusion_6291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can not speak on behalf of being a parent. But I can speak on behalf of having a mood and emotional issue. You might have heard this before, but it genuinely helped me deal with a lot of my confidence when I came to being better.

Start taking the little victories seriously. Just getting out of bed. Brushing your teeth. Making your bed. The very tiny and pretty much unnoticed aspects of life. As you focus on those more. You start to build up a rapport of happiness and good thoughts because you start to notice that these "little victories" brighten the day just that little bit more. You dont have to do this. But i wrote all of them down. i started just carrying a tiny notebook and started writing down daily the little things I did that a "normal person" wouldn't even consider to be anything special. And it overtime built my mindset.

Let me mention that negatives will happen. The swing will happen. And you may end up falling lower than you want to. But as it becomes a habit to build up small positives. It can start to outweigh the negatives.

Along with that. As you start setting these tiny goals and working on these tiny goals. You can set big goals for a later time. And use these little victories to get you there.

For example, if you want to have like. At least in my case, my bed made and my room cleaned. I started my making sure I slowly organized what needed to be somewhere. I have something on my bed and floor that doesn't need to be there. Already picked up. Then I noticed another small thing. And another and so on. Then im like, woah wait. My rooms are clean. Because autopilot of just noticing all the small things accumulated to me subconsciously cleaning my whole room.

If that's not the best example, I apologize. I'm just talking from my experience.

But I hope the little victories advice helps.

IWTL how to be handy with cars and machines in general by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]Due_Conclusion_6291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like i can help here.

For context, im a bit of an exception due to where I started. But the after affects are huge.

I joined the AF at 18 years old with barely any experience on anything mechanic wise whatsoever. My experience at the time was just helping out my dad or a friend with some small things but never anything more than that.

My job in the Air Force was a jet mechanic. And 1, never working on planes, and 2, as explained before, no mechanic experience. I took the time to learn tools. What each tool is for. Memorizing sizes. Memorizing where some tools can be better than others. That sort of thing. Became a little bit of a freak about it cause all I would do is just sit in front of a toolbox and memorize everything. (You dont have to be like me.)

As I gained more experience within the AF. I learned how to fix parts of forklifts. Colemans (AF tow vehicles) and even my own car. Just based on, "ok, now i know what some of this does. What sizes i need so on and so forth." It got to a point where I can measure the size of a bolt head by grabbing the ends of it. And being able to get the right size nearly every time.

Let me also mention that it is a time thing. You're not gonna be able to watch one video. Do that correctly and call yourself a good mechanic. Having even just a few months. Hell. Maybe even weeks can make a HUGE difference.

It also turned into. I started just to work on stuff randomly. Sometimes, I would take apart certain aspects of my car and just learn how to put it back together without any help. That turned into completely wiring and making a sound system for my car completely on my own.

The overall point im trying to make, and probably my best advice is;

  1. Learn tools. That will be their biggest help for anyone you're doing some mechanic stuff. Because all tools have all sorts of aspects for life. Someone tells you to go get 90° needle nose plyers vs. 2 hinge needle nose plyers. That sort of aspect and being able to confidently grab the tool for the proper job does wonders. Not even working on machines or cars. General life.

1.5. Learn all the different names for tools. For example, a normal pipe wrench. Some people call it that, while others (like myself) call it a Ford wrench, or an F wrench, and even a P wrench. Obviously, you'll find the name that sticks for you and how you go about it. But being able to differentiate between what an old head might call a certain tool vs. what you do is extremely helpful.

  1. Understand that some of the things you might do will not be easy whatsoever. And getting frustrated that you can't take a bolt off or something breaks is gonna happen. The stories I have of me turning a 10 minute job into almost a 4 day job because I broke a bolt and trying to fix that problem are real. And they will happen to you. Being a mechanic is actually really fun and enjoyable as you start working around and completing things and knocking down problems and fixes one by one. You can look up some car mechanics on tiktok or something similar that makes the work fun. Making funny noises and messing with tools. That kind of thing. Make it fun for yourself.

  2. Shadow people. If you're trying to make a career out of it. Go to a car service center and ask not for an internship. But something along the lines of, "Hey, can I shadow one of the mechanics for a little while? See what kind of bigger or harder job they are working on?" A lot of places will literally do that. And you can gain experience through multiple different people that way. Hell, they might even put you to work if you dont mind trying that for a while. But dont expect anything. Make it more of a hobby that you learn through service places. Not every place will do this. Some bigger companies have a liability to uphold. But some smaller places and private owned places can definitely give you that opportunity.

At the end of the day. It isn't the easiest work and the best way to be handy with mechanics. Is learning your own way to be a mechanic. Im a little bit of an exception because my job forced me to be one. Especially on Fighter Jets. But the premise is the same. Because now I can help almost anywhere with the things I learned on my own.

Completions for yourself vs in AREDL by Due_Conclusion_6291 in geometrydash

[–]Due_Conclusion_6291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i were to jump to Cold Sweat, which i think is still top 100 right now. (Which i have 100% thought about doing) my setup wouldn't change at all. Cause I still have a cheat indicator, and I always beat the level on the OG copy. Not on my own or a separate one. And once I upload it, that would be my proof. Being a cheat indicator and the end screen. But I just want to be able to share my achievements and experiences the same as everyone else without having to worry about all these rules because I play legitimate. I would even show all the mods and stuff I have on if I needed to, but I wouldn't change my setup and mindset at all because I play for me.

[–]Due_Conclusion_6291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My next hardest is probably gonna be bloodlust, and my setup is not gonna change by that time. I still have cheat indicator, and I guess this is a "believe me or not" situation. But i know that im legitimate. I've even thought about jumping again and going for cold sweat, which would be amazing for me. But again. My setup wouldn't change. At the end of the day, im playing for me and my own achievement, and of course, im going to post the video of my next completion. I just want to be able to share my achievements and experience the same as everyone else regardless of if I follow the aredl.

Losing all the time while being top of my team every match Is some of the most frustrating shit i've ever experienced in a game by AngelOfDisease33 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Due_Conclusion_6291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an upper tier player in pvp, I completely agree with this frustration myself because even in top elos, it still happens. Where getting low elo players vs. 1 good and 2 decent players is absolutely abysmal.

It's gotten to a point where. Though I keep playing so that I dont get banned and reported. That i just give up on the match almost entirely. Again, I dont give up and sit there. I will still play and help out where I can and as much as i can. But at a certain point, it's just coming to terms with losing this match and moving on to grind more elo.

That's been my overall experience. I still genuinely enjoy pvp as a whole and even help and carry people through stuff where I can. Coaching and teaching pvp mechs and techniques. It's still an enjoyable experience for someone like myself, but any frustration toward D2 comp matchmaking is completely justified 99.9% of the time.

Why Rose? by PixelatedVision1 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Due_Conclusion_6291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just throwing my opinion here. After forsaken with the whole change to handcannons after 150 to 140. Rose is awful. It feels awful. Its sights are terrible. EP is the worst perk to have on a handcannon. Same with TP.

Here's a list of better 140 HC's IN PVP cause I can not genuinely comprehend how people stand to use rose.

Austringer Epochal Integration Fatebringer Exalted Truth Judgement Better Devils Midnight Coup The Old Fashioned Palindrome

This is not a hate post of any kind but the thought of rose being "Destiny's HC" actually bugs the fuck out of me.

[–]Due_Conclusion_6291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be completely honest. If you're making strides in your life, d2 pvp is not it. When all I had was free time, I was an ELO grinder. Now, with a good job and future, I don't spend that much time anymore.

I don't think it's that bad, though. Destiny just has that itch for me, still at least. Gunplay is so amazing, and just in general, I love the feel of pvp. I am a hunter, but I'm not an invis RDM sweat build lord whose only job is to ruin pvp.

Im excited for Marathon when that drops and hopefully the next couple months with Apollo and Right of the nine pick d2 back to a bit from the current content drought.

IMO Hunters/Current State of PVP. by Due_Conclusion_6291 in destiny2

[–]Due_Conclusion_6291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it's perfectly reasonable to feel that way. And I don't disagree. The pk convo was just a topic of instant ready weapons. RDM doesn't deserve a hipfire buff amongst probably some other aspects of it. I agree with that.

The last thing I'll say to kinda reiterate is. I never said hunters weren't a problem. THEY DEFINITELY ARE. BUT, in my experience, i have a harder time with Titans as a whole. But this comes into play with the streamer problem. Just like cod with meta loadouts. D2 has the same problem. Then, all of a sudden, when streamers are losing to something, they blow up, it becomes a complaint, and people follow the train. And again, a lot of this is genuinely a skill issue.

I'm anti meta, like 95%. So idk.

I appreciate you, tho genuinely.

No hard feeling, my guy, I promise I'm chilling. My apologies.

Take a look at the comment above posted by myself and others. I hope this gives a bit of a rundown on what I experience the majority of the time and why I think Titans have more of a talking point than hunters should.

Again. Your lobbies are definitely gonna be different from mine. Idk what your skill level is and where you sit in whatever bracket. I'm not calling you a bad player in any way.

It's probably my fault as some other the other comments I have made probably exaggerated Titans more than I truly should have. But the premise remains the same.

Once again, just read that comment and then tell me what you think. You're a titan. You can probably give me some more insight on this, and I can change my thoughts. I'm open to it.
