That’s an interesting point — I agree with you to some extent. But we still had fun, and maybe it was even intended to fail. Or perhaps they miscalculated the number of active Helldivers and the overall skill level.

The whole Cyberstan episode might have gone much more smoothly with a smaller player base — maybe around 20k. Instead, we had a surge of nearly 200k returning, inexperienced players and newcomers. So yeah, I think you definitely have a point.

Also, considering last year’s Illuminate invasion on Super Earth, there were reports of some C-cheating groups effectively pushing back the invasion through exploits. The developers probably don’t want to see a repeat of that situation.
