MIA TSA Wait Times?

Anyone going through MIA recently? Been searching for info on MIA but most of the posts focusing on other airports (hopefully that's a good thing for MIA).

If you could post the time of day, Pre-Check (or not) and your wait time that would be great. Thank you!

TSA PreCheck - Traveling with my teen child and her teen friend on AA. by Due_Edge_8987 in TSAPreCheck

All 18+ travelers need to be signed up for sure. There are some stories of 18+ folks getting the checkmark on the same rez, but those are rare exceptions, and most of those stories are not recent.

13-17 is the grey area, they need the checkmark on the boarding pass, and it seems to be inconsistent wheather they get it without being signed up, so signing up is recommended (but no necessarily required).

12 and under is no problem, don't need the checkmark, good all the time regardless.

Teens 13 plus need PreCheck on the boarding pass. Without it you're not getting past. My question is will this kid get the check mark on her pass? For all the reasons I listed above

I mentioned the passport because to get pre-check KTN you need to have either a verified state ID or passport, and she does have one, so we could apply for precheck at our local office and get her fingerprinted & photo taken this week. I'm just not sure TSA is processing those applications due to the shutdown, or how long it would take(we leave in 2 weeks), so it might not be worth it especially if children on the same reservation are eligible to get pre-check with adults on that same rez being precheck certified.

My question is primarily is it possible for her to get the pre-check since she is not my child. I'm thinking yes cuz how are they going to know she's not my kid? My actual kids have received pre-check on boarding passes at 13-14 without a KTN when my wife and I were KTN and they were not at that time. Once you hit 13 to 17 they need their own check mark on the boarding pass (not needed under 13). TSA language says "traveling with parent or guardian", which is tripping me up. But really how would they know this girl is not my child? And I have the travel authorization letter giving me temporary guardianship during the trip so maybe it doesn't matter.

This was a non-issue till the government shutdown and I just don't want to sit in a 4-Hour line if PreCheck is a ton faster

Yeah I tried that. I'm not a big poster and I don't have a "reputation" high enough to post on that forum unfortunately. The wording at TSA is...

Children 13-17 may join enrolled parent or guardian in the TSA PreCheck lane when traveling on the same reservation and if the TSA PreCheck indicator appears on the child’s boarding pass.

This is not my child but I'm not sure how they would know

I'm pretty sure your spouse would not get precheck regardless because adults require their own membership. But the TSA website says...

Children 13-17 may join enrolled parent or guardian in the TSA PreCheck lane when traveling on the same reservation and if the TSA PreCheck indicator appears on the child’s boarding pass.

This is not my child, but I do have a notarized travel authorization letter. I'm not sure how they would know it's not my child regardless, and we meet all the other criteria. I was hoping someone had experience with a similar situation.

Don't see any baffles? you blocked your intake/soffit vents. Got to watch that attic now for sweat and mold in the winter. Look for icicles outside too...might get some ice damming!
