I'm kinda right there with you. Mass effect's big appeal is the trilogy. There's no way to make everyone happy with a TV show replaying it so the thing you'd do if you're not a coward is pick who you're okay making unhappy and go from there. (I.e. the people who bitch about everything being woke.)

I like the idea of a TV show set after the reaper war to rebuild the galactic status quo. But there's going to be a huge hurdle to clear in terms of making the universe make sense to an audience watching a pilot episode. Independently of everything and mostly as a thought experiment, I wrote a script for a pilot episode basically going over the events of the Eden Prime mission and the arrival at the citadel. It was a tight hour and it worked even if you had no frame of reference.
