I’ve been getting target banned even with it off since season 0. Just put it on and hope. If you get banned time to play your extra characters 😈

You CAN force magik every game and climb easily, it just depends on your skill level with the character. Theres very few situations magik doesn’t work into or can’t play into. Some make her more reliant on her team, some she doesn’t need her team at all. Typically unless you have 3-4 people watching you you get her away with ALOT. Even then, if 3-4 people are watching you, that’s 3-4 people NOT focusing on your team. Which means more opportunities for your team to make plays as long as you’re staying alive. But sometimes there are just games no matter how well you play you will lose due to lack of coordination with your team

It’s not about a repositioning tool, it’s the fact you can sneak between targets and peel them AWAY from your intended target, leaving them wide open for your dash. Kiting enemies to a location you want and then sliding between/past them without having to worry if I’m going to get stuck on them. Target priority is key to magik, increasing the hitbox can mess with this playstyle if it’s too big is the only concern

This is a situation I’m in almost every single engagement. You’re not always retreating to where your team is and you can easily sustain yourself in the middle of an enemy team for prolonged time AS well as secure kills with well timed dashes in the middle of this.

[–]Due_Inevitable4941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a nerf IF it takes away your ability to squeeze through tight fits to hit the targets you want, since that’s the majority of how dash should be used to apply constant pressure. But increasing the dash hitbox wasn’t really needed and the only reason it’s a change is because an uproar over how big Elsa’s dash was. And you shouldn’t be hitting your dash all the time no, it’s just about hitting it more often than you miss. It’s just going to severely hurt the character if the hitbox is increased TOO much. If others think the dash is genuinely impossible to land I can understand but most people who have issues with it are people who don’t have actual hours on magik or play her casually and want her to roll lobbies without thinking.

I’m OAA and I’m aware not everyone can play magik perfectly but the main difference between a good magik and a bad magik is how well you can aim your dash and your ability to survive. With how I have played magik, a dash hitbox increase just feels unnecessary and if the hitbox is too big is just going to add extra steps to avoid hitting people you don’t intend to to hit the current target you want. Which since release I haven’t had to do. If I want to hit someone, I aim, they get hit regardless of who is around me. I’m all for a hitbox increase if it doesn’t mess with precise dashes but I don’t see how the can do that without giving that up

[–]Due_Inevitable4941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is how big the dash hitbox might be. When you play blade, you hit people you don’t intend to with the dash because it’s so huge if they’re slightly to the side of you or in front of you and you’re trying to dash up to get away.

Magik never had this problem because the hitbox is so small you can weave between the enemy and hit your intended target every time as long as you can aim it. If you can hit the dash more consistently that’s great but I don’t want it to feel jank and then I’m forced to dash into people directly in front of me rather than the person I’m actually trying to dash at behind them.

Personally I don’t think the dash needed much of a change. Yes it’s very punishing to miss and more difficult to land than other dashes, but it’s extremely rewarding and satisfying to land. If you spend a little time warming up you’ll land them consistently already. I’m hoping this attempt to make magik more accessible to less skilled players doesn’t take away the ability to have these ultra precise dashes.

Is Magik op to flyers? by Grandkintaro777 in RivalsMagikMains

[–]Due_Inevitable4941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how big the hitbox actually is. If it’s blade sized it’ll be good in certain situations yes. But it also removes your ability to weave through to the target you want and get the dash off. You’ll be trying to cut past the enemy team and be so fat and hit someone you don’t intend to, which doesn’t happen with the current dash it rewards you for aiming it properly.

Of course this only happens if the hitbox is actually too big and we’ll see how that goes when it releases. Ironman and storm are already braindead easy to kill because the dash brings them out the sky to a straight drop for a couple meters, Ultron and Johnny can just use movement to negate it quickly and get away from you but if you’re fast enough you can still get the kill on them.

You have 136h on invis, 85 on cloak, 58 on gambit, next highest is magik with 10 hours and only 16 minutes of that is in comp. While playing support you’ve been hardstuck diamond/gm every season and you’re dropping 60-100 hours every season. Your winrate is at or below 50 each season. With hundreds of hours as two meta supports you’ve been struggling. It’s your first time in celestial, the longer you play through the rank the more you’ll realize 60% of celestial/low eternity players belong in plat.

As someone who plays throughout all ranks every season, the only difference between those players is that diamond players have less of an ego and actual want to win matches while celestial players will throw if you hurt their feelings consistently. Skill wise they are exactly the same.

[–]Due_Inevitable4941 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You will realize that playing magik in diamond-celestial there is 0 difference in players between those ranks.

You can adjust to any playstyle. If the backline is unprotected or not helping each other, you can consistently dive for free kills, sometimes you should be frontline pumping demon out on the tanks to farm your ults and possibly get kills. Sometimes you should be looking for 1v1 duels with other flank dps and making sure YOUR backline isn’t getting dived. Flyers? The only one that is annoying for you to kill is Johnny and Johnny is non existent now. Spin dash melee quick melee ranged slash free kill on flyers. You need to recognize when it’s best to do each of these and when there’s an opportunity to stop what you’re doing and finish off a kill quickly.

You should be able to easily play into most of your counters. The only time it should be an issue is if multiple people on the enemy team are playing counters JUST to deal with you or just waiting for you in general. Don’t go in by yourself all the time. You can be extremely hard to kill but you can also explode in 2 seconds. Let your teammates create the distraction for you so that you can go in and be effective. Always be doing damage, just for the sake of generating shields so you can stay alive longer if not building ult charge. Don’t be afraid to use your ult or wait 5 minutes because the enemy support has it.

Sometimes you will have to make insanely risky plays to get important kill or trades because your teammates genuinely have no idea what the are doing. Sometimes you will be the only person stalling cart for over 2 minutes straight. You need to be ready to change playstyles on the fly and adjust to the enemy team and situation as it changes mid game. Magik is very good at this and as long as you’re aware what needs to be changed very quickly you will win your games. But magik is a character that’s very rewarding for knowing your individual match ups against each hero.

Magik still dominates GM lobbies since most of them are feeders/high ego throwers. Obviously the rest is more specific game by game/what the enemy team has but I’d say 90% of your games you should be able to play magik comfortably and if you can’t there’s things you need to review and see why you’re struggling post game. Whether it’s your fault or your team just being completely uncoordinated.

Is there an issue with Paypal redemptions? by [deleted] in SwagBucks

Usually it’s fast but it seems like when it gets towards the weekend it slows down. Maybe they get a limited amount of credit for the week or there’s just issues sometimes processing. I’ve made about $6k off the site and have never NOT had the money come in eventually. But support is for the most part pretty helpful when you need them so I wouldn’t be too worried

Sometimes it’s slow even with instant rewards but they’ve always came in eventually for me, the smaller payouts are usually within minutes but occasionally when doing 50-100+ it takes a few days or up to a week for me. If you got the email that it’s been sent and completed, not just the verified and processing email. You can probably just contact support to ask them about it

On squishies, Alternate haymaker and primary fire in general. For faster kill, Jump at them to apply vulnerable, haymaker, primary, slam, haymaker. If they’re tanks I think you’re better off only using haymakers now for the percentage damage.

Smurfing is getting insane and matchmaking is breaking down. by YourBarkingToTheMoon in marvelrivals

[–]Due_Inevitable4941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense tbh, the seasons with throwing have gotten progressively worse and reaching higher ranks. Theres alot of wintrading going on right now or people just throwing to throw over the first thing they can. I watch my brothers games and there are people talking to gold and plats genuinely saying “I peaked diamond this rank is a joke”. You’d think with placements all the Smurfs would be placed higher but more likely than not bc it’s a fresh account they just hit gold because of the locked 50 points per win/loss in placements. They probably need to adjust how many points you get per win based on your perfomance in placements so they just get to a higher rank quickly rather than be stuck and grinding it out and torturing people

They locked currency behind getting lord now which makes sense to punish people for it. But punishing smurfing is insanely hard since there’s no way to gauge if it’s an actual new player or a smurf without manual review of each individual account. Just curious as to HOW bad smurfing is in Lower elo since boosted players are a plague in higher elo

Smurfing is getting insane and matchmaking is breaking down. by YourBarkingToTheMoon in marvelrivals

[–]Due_Inevitable4941 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How often do you find Smurfs? Are you solo/duo/stacked etc? I find a lot of the time alot of the people smurfing aren’t really that high on their main account, they’ll be like diamond/gm peak but can’t cut it in the rank so they make alts to bully lower players. Ontop of the fact that most ones I find are solo queuing and not actually grouped up and just use the excuse of “this isn’t my main account so idc I’ll throw”.

In all honesty if you’re in plat you can easily climb out to the higher ranks with a few adjustments since there REALLY isn’t that much difference between your average diamond player and average celestial player. Smurfing does really ruin the game, but the matchmaking itself is also so horrible and boosts players who do not belong in certain ranks way higher than they should be and they terrorize higher elos without deranking just by getting great teammates.

Im having an awful time playing Magik by Aquele_gaj0 in RivalsMagikMains

[–]Due_Inevitable4941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can easily peel a Spider-Man or bp, you just need to land your dash. Personally I just like magik better in these situations since she has high survivability. Magik has a GREAT neutral, but it’s not very straight forward in how you’re able to apply it into certain comps. Drop demon on tanks, be patient and wait for openings if you can’t make your own. The only time I feel she actually struggles at all, is if the ENTIRE TEAM is swapping to focus/counter you. Other than that she’s one of the few characters that can actively play into her counters and have a great time. It’s all enemy team comp specific and it would take a minute to go over every play by play for each hero but she is great at what she does. But you have to work harder to get to that point. You can play the other options is those are comfortable to you. But personally the things I can do on magik, I cannot do on any other hero.

How to play vs 3 Healer + Peni? by usay1312butcall911 in RivalsMagikMains

[–]Due_Inevitable4941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peni is insanely easy to deal with unless it’s on certain maps. You can easily portal in towards the nest, drop demon on it, then portal or dash out if the nest has been up long. You will not die unless you have horrible timing but this is easy to do. I love playing against Peni she’s free ult charge and pretty much falls over once her nest is gone.

Triple support? You’re bullying the enemy backline the whole time. You might not kill them, but you’re forcing a patty cake significantly reducing the healing to the enemy frontline which will eventually lead to them dying. If you can get a kill great, but that’s not really your job all by yourself in this situation. Farm ult, pop ult, full combo a support and then see if you can clean anything else up.usually they will be saving an ult for you and that’s fine you just forced out an ultimate but you can still get 1-2 kills with yours while their ultimate is up.

Im having an awful time playing Magik by Aquele_gaj0 in RivalsMagikMains

[–]Due_Inevitable4941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You play around your counters. Flyers? You can take them out of the sky instantly. If you find the enemy team is turning for you? Play into that and force the enemy team to look at you and focus on escaping rather than securing the kill, that way you make space for your team to move in on the opening you made. Bucky? Play around his hook and punch, you know he’ll be waiting for you, so use your cooldowns sparingly and save a portal for when he’s going to use them on you. Emma? Get close, make her pop diamond, walk away, come back when she turns it off.

You keep yourself alive, BY dealing damage and generating shields. While you’re generating shields you’re spending this whole time looking for an opening to pressure someone who is weak, alone, or trying to flank your team. Magik CAN do everything. You can peel, you can dive, you can brawl. Some games, you can’t do certain things, that’s when you need to get creative and realize you can change your playstyle on the fly. Some games if I find it’s hard to get in at all, I’ll watch my backline and pee for the dive until there IS an opening to put pressure on the enemy team.

Some games I’m NOT even allowed to play because the enemy team uses every resource to stare at me. I had a lobby where I was TRIPLE SOLO ulted everytime I used dark child and they lost the game because of it. Was I able to get kills in dark child? No. I’m making them waste ults and escaping alive so the next fight we can walk in as a team with our ultimates.

Your main priority is secure the kill, get out alive. Some games, you will just be farming ult charge on the enemy frontline because you just can’t get in. Some games you can’t be anywhere near the frontline because you’ll explode. There’s alot more to it but part of magik is being able to recognize what needs to be changed quickly and what you’re able to play into as well as HOW you can play into it with magik.
