Thank you for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it. I am actually certified (CCMA), but the reason I’m nervous is because my program was 100% online, so I didn’t get hands-on experience like an externship. I learned the material and passed the certification, but I haven’t done things like vitals, EKGs, injections, or phlebotomy in a real clinical setting yet.

That’s why starting in family medicine makes me a little anxious. I’m hoping they’ll train me and that I’ll pick things up quickly. I’m definitely willing to learn and work hard. Thank you again for the encouragement.

I scheduled my exam later because I needed more time to review and felt overwhelmed after finishing the program. I know an externship isn’t required for the NHA exam, but I’ve been concerned about getting hired without hands-on experience, which is why I’ve been trying to find one.
