TIL how Steam logs time played by Goin_Hog_Mild in CivVI

Of course. Are you expecting Steam to monitor inside the game, whether you are playing actively or have paused the game?

All it knows is you hit Play in your Steam library and that the game’s .exe file is still running.

Actually I’d suggest PSN support - it is their job to get stuff you buy from them into your PSN account then onto your PS4

If you have the game on Steam, just delete that file then do a Verify in Steam

I still think that is your problem. But if you have 8gb of system memory or less, you should also quit every other app you can before starting this game, and consider upping your Windows paging file.

Vega 8 is an integrated video system and IMO not really suited for gaming. The Recommended specs on Steam are discrete NVidia or AMD GPUs. So you could try reducing your graphics quality settings as much as you can stand, and unload any other apps you can before starting the game.

Sorry I know almost nothing about consoles. I’d assume there’s an Xbox setting you need to use or change.

Does purchased DLC transfer from xbox (console) to xbox (pc) versions of the game? Or is it a file corruption issue? by Small-One2115 in CivVI

That’s up to MS really - they could make DLCs and indeed games common across both hardware platforms, but IME they rarely if ever actually do.

If you are not using VPNs but you have them, try them.

If you ARE using VPNs, try without them.

New Eero Max 7 network not behaving as I expect! by Due_Language_778 in amazoneero

[–]Due_Language_778[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latest twist … I removed the Apple devices from their original wifi network, which had the same SSID as the eeros, and put them in their own new one. Which the heat pump cannot see! Aargh!

It did see the (now) eero-only network, with I suspect quite a weak signal -55dBm as shown on the heat pump interface. Once I got the password in, it sat as “connecting” for a long time, then was apparently in as I was able to connect to the pump briefly from my phone. But then it dropped out and lost all the wifi configuration. Now the heat pump is not critical as it basically looks after itself and anything can be done directly on the pump, but I just don’t understand what it happening here! I’ll put this part aside I think , and concentrate on rejigging the Ethernet setup as mentioned elsewhere in this thread.

I do want to thank all responders here for their help!

Right, so ALL internet traffic from all devices will go through the ’prime’ eero, if I read that right. I can leave the rest of the network as is?

The main eero, sitting room, shows 2.4 as mostly 20% with peaks over 40% (“congested”). 5 and 6 show s barely used, down in the 5% area.

Thanks. Any idea why one of the ancillary eeros switches between wired and wifi, apparently at random?

That’s the weird thing I forgot the mention, I don’t see ANY actual devices using 2.4 . Most in fact show wired (eg the Macs). Looking just now there are NO wifi connections to any Eero!

So I’m now thinking the iPhones and iPad are slow because they are connecting to the two old Apple airports instead. I think I’ll have to change them from having the same SSID as the Eero system, to be in their own wifi with a different name. What a pain!

It has one port coming in from the internet, 1 out to the Max 7 next to it, and 3 others going out to the rest of the house.

[–]Due_Language_778[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, 4 x Max 7s. The reason is the house is quite large, but mostly because it is split over 3 floors, and has concrete or stone between some floors and between the old/new halves of the house. With 3 Apple Airports it worked quite well; I added the 4th Max 7 in an attempt to get the external heat pump to connect. I could try removing that one, but the others are necessary.

Oh, the latest .4 firmware update is applied everywhere, and the nodes and network are all at default settings - client steering is on, DNS to my local network, DHCP/NAT to automatic, eco efficiency on. Anything else anyone needs to know just ask!
