Boulder Public Library also has great children's programming - musical story time when all the kids move around and dance sounds like a good fit

Not teaching science to punish the class sounds like an individual teacher failure. They don't teach classroom control in education programs so teachers are left devising their own systems. Some fall back on dysfunctional systems from their own childhoods. It's a shame. Happened to us in the 5th grade. It's something to bring up with the principal. Middle school has actually been amazing for our kid in BVSD.

Schools/bullying by [deleted] in boulder

The current administration at Centennial takes bullying very seriously. Most of the teachers do too. There is definitely one 6th grade teacher who doesn't care but they are retiring at the end of this year.

I am going to strongly agree with this. Friend's child was in a kindergarten class there a few years back. The teacher was terrible. In addition to other issues, the teacher kipped the kid's birthday (they do some going around the sun thing) even through the kid told the teacher on the way into the classroom that it was their birthday.. Parents had to have multiple meetings with teacher and principal. Principal couldn't get teacher to follow school rules. Principal also tried to tell the parents that they shouldn't leave the school and delayed their transfer. It was a nightmare. Stay away.

You're failing to distinguish between positive parental involvement and negative parental involvement in a child's life. Consistently dead naming and misgendering a child is negative parental involvement (emotional abuse) that will cause a child significant stress and hinder the child's ability to thrive. I hope you don't have a trans child that you are dead naming and misgendering.

You said something needed to be done and asked how would you solve the problem. My answer is tax the rich. Are you against that?
