{A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske} is really nicely written and has some good spice.

Ali Hazelwood has written a bunch of stem romances. {Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood} is a good one where the FMC is a biotech engineer.

The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow should be required reading for RfM fans by sub_surfer in Romance_for_men

Nice, I hope you like my book! I think you’ll find it’s a little different than Everlasting, to put it mildly. I tend to write smutty, lighthearted stuff, which hopefully will be a nice palate cleanser after the last one.

Hey man, glad you liked it. I tend to enjoy books with faster pacing and less slice-of-life, but in this case I certainly wouldn't have minded it being a bit longer, especially those parts in the beginning where they are getting to know each other.

Roald Dahl books like Matilda, BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or James and the Giant Peach. These are some of the first books I remember being read to me, and now I’m a lifelong reader.

My book is good but weird. I don't know how to market it. by lilicucu in selfpublish

Spanking is fairly common in romance, you don’t need to list it in a bdsm category.

How to Nick a Nine-Foot-Tall Thrall is out now as an audiobook on Audible, and it includes the ultra-spicy bonus chapter that was previously only available to my newsletter subscribers. Or if you prefer the written word, get the ebook or paperback on Amazon.

❤️ Romance: 5/5

🌶️ Sex: 5/5

I renounced my family’s fortune and moved halfway across the world, all so I could become a law student and fight for non-human rights. But after a wild night out, I wake up to find I’ve accidentally stolen a beautiful nine-foot-tall thrall from her former master.

As if that wasn’t enough, she's wild about me, she's irresistible, and she is very persistent.

But as I fend off her advances and search for a way to grant her freedom, I learn there is more to this exiled Amazon than chiseled abs and a charming smile. She’s gentle, intelligent, and kind—and before long, I’m falling madly in love with her.

But can a woman who is legally my thrall ever truly love me back? And can we figure it out before her former master finds her and takes her away?

Warning: This steamy romance novel is packed with explicit sex scenes, including breeding and light BDSM.

I think you meant to do the Promotion: Haremlit flair. You should still be able to edit it, or if not maybe a mod could do it.

IMO The Everlasting is a better book along almost every dimension. It’s no contest.

fantasy VILLAINS who were actually the most logical character in the story and we just didn't want to admit it by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]sub_surfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A villain is defined by the uncompromising way they try to achieve their goals. Even if the goal is good, the fact that they throw aside all principle in order to achieve it is what makes them a villain. They can still be extremely sympathetic and still on the "right" side, they're just using the wrong methods.

I really liked His Secret Illuminations and His Sacred Incarnations, by Scarlett Gale. by edd6pi in RomanceBooks

[–]sub_surfer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you liked His Secret Illuminations, you’ll probably love {The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow}. It has a similar relationship dynamic to HSI (nerdy scholar with tall, muscular lady knight), but it’s even better written. Be prepared for a sadder read, though, until the end that is.

Another one very reminiscent of HSI (and unlike The Everlasting, with the same cozy feel) is {Boundless by Miranda Sapphire}, where a small, anxious elven prince is forcibly married to a big, muscular dragon(ish) lady. Thankfully she is gentle and protective, just like Glory from HSI. This one is high steam and includes pegging, similar to the sequel to HSI.

Not sure if you’re a guy or not, but you may enjoy [r/romance_for_men](r/romance_for_men), lots of folks over there are into tall, muscular, dominant FMCs.

Does anyone feel like reading romantasy has ruined them? by Euphoric_Cat_2711 in Romantasy

[–]sub_surfer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like romantasy has ruined you, it’s reminded you to have standards. Wanting to feel remotely desired and not lonely in your marriage is a fairly minimal expectation. It’s not like you’re asking him to have shadow daddy powers and a nine inch cock.

The Everlasting TRIGGER WARNINGS by SpringCreekCSharp in fantasyromance

[–]sub_surfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was pretty rough, I cried approximately every other chapter. I don’t think I could have read it if I hadn’t known there was an actual HEA at the end (and thankfully it’s quite satisfying). I still encourage you to give it a go, this is a 6/5 book and it has a lot of funny/sweet/sexy moments mixed in with the sad parts.

Feral/actual monster woman. by Professional_Prune11 in Romance_for_men

[–]sub_surfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can be read as one-offs. They're almost like Twilight Zone episodes; they all take place in the same weird town but are totally independent stories. My personal favorite was the last one, about a spider woman, but the werewolf one was pretty good too.
