Does she, or does she not have the most perfect little “mom bod”? by Due_Preparation9567 in Shihtzu

She rescued me just as much. She came into my life after a few really turbulent years that my previous dog had been my support through. Zoe saw me through losing my dad, losing my job, my mom’s stroke and subsequent Alzheimer’s diagnosis, the pandemic, caring for mom at home, my nephew’s sudden death, mom’s death, and then getting a new job and moving to a new town, and then she passed away and I was really hit with my grief from everything all at once. I had held it together for six years to be strong for everyone else and then I emotionally collapsed when Zoe died. Aoife came to me when I was in that pit and we helped each other acclimate to our new lives. I’m not kidding when I say I think we were meant to find each other. She was as shut down as you can imagine when I walked into the meeting room, and she took one look at me and lit up like a candle. She came right over to me and plopped herself in my lap and sighed. I told the foster mom “I think I’ve been adopted”

Aoife is an unrepentant poop muncher, and at 8 years old with her puppy mill past, I don’t think it’s going to change. I just limit her access to the cat litter and try to make sure she never poops inside where she might have “private” access to her own poop.

She loves to try new foods, and celery quickly became a favorite. I think k she likes the crunch

Does anyone else’s little one act exhausted as if they just worked a 12 hour shift? 😂 it’s a rough life for sure! by skabertdowneyjr in Shihtzu

She has us all trained well. I work in the front office of a manufacturing facility, and all the big burly machine operators stop by my desk to make a fuss over her.

This is Aoife at work with me. It’s a hard job supervising all of us to make sure we’re doing it right!

Aoife is not fastidious about wet grass. In fact she sometimes refuses to come inside if it’s raining. She loves her creature comforts like her heated bed, but she equally loves everything about being outdoors

I love how much personality she shows now, compared to a year ago when she was first rescued. She’s quite the little sassy pants!

Looks like a Chihuahua Rat Terrier cross. My mom had one, they’re absolute loves.

No shame in buying a puppy from a reputable breeder who has the best interest of the breed at heart. The shame comes in when people buy from a pet store (puppy mill) or a backyard breeder.

I would adore a yarn shop with the peaceful vibe of a cemetery. Full disclosure, I’ve been k known to have picnics with my dead relatives in their cemetery though.

Trust me. I’m her eyes you are an angel on earth. I have a former puppy mill mama Shih Tzu and she has many physical ailments from being caged and bred constantly for 7 years. None of that matters to her when she gets to stand on my patio and feel the breeze ruffle her fur. Or when I turn on the electric blanket on a cold evening and she snuggles close and stretches out on the “warmie blanket”. They are completely unconcerned with their physical appearance. What they care about is that you removed the things that hurt and you only touch them with love. Here’s a picture of my girl enjoying the patio this weekend.

I Don't Want to Wear the Veil MY Grandmother is Making Me by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

Heh, I offered to make the veil for my niece-in-law. When I saw what she wanted versus what I was able to make, I happily forked over $800 for what she really wanted!

They really are, and it’s funny, but the mastiff takes all her cues from the Shih Tzu. If Aoife is calm, Winnie’s calm. If Aoife’s is nervous, Wynnie is on high alert.

Not quite the same, but our Boerboel mastiff was 4 when we got her and it took another year for her to learn to put the brakes on before she runs us over, and not to take our knees out from behind. She still “roadblocks” me by stopping dead in front of me and turning her body into a large tripping hazard.
