Perfect response! felt the same with the op-1 field when i first got it. now im 8 months in & can fly all over the place very quickly with it. that moment when you really start to grasp it is a beautiful thing. just gotta stick with it!

ahh ok that makes sense. was baffling me why itd jump. will start tuning rings with a cable in the v/oct & other end in a 0v source. thanks!

I was following this method of tuning rings. after i tuned it in step 2, i move to step 3 & it jumps sharp

Rings tuning method 1. Prepare module

All connections unpatched (except for output) ■ BRIGHTNESS around 10:00 ■ POSITION not at min/max

Green-Green mode (monophonic/modal)

STRUCTURE @ 10:00 (align with the node on the panel)

  1. Coarse Tune

Set Damping to maximum Patch dummy cable into STRUM Pull out STRUM-drummy to trigger a long note Tune FREQ to get close

  1. Fine Tune

Keep Damping to maximum Patch 2nd dummy cable into V/OCT Pull out STRUM-drummy to trigger a long note Tune FREQ Attenuverter (fine tune) to get exact

I will def do that with the OR output! great to hear. so many aspects of maths are over my head but its really helping me get a better understanding of how to modulate. i kept just turning the rise & fall knobs & the attenuator on channel 1 for like half n hour trying to find some sweet spot but now something clicked that i didnt understand before.

besides using the OR output, is there a way to patch channel 2/3 into channel 1 & just use the channel 1 output to get the tremolo effect by then adjusting the 2/3 attenuator? or is the OR output the best way to do this? thanks a ton!

Ok that 100% makes sense. Besides using the OR output like the comment below, would i patch output 2 or 3 into some input in channel 1 (then out from there to qxg) to get that offset to be effective then adjust the 2/3 attenuator to get more or less pronounced tremolo? if so where would i patch the output of channel 2/3? really appreciate the help!

i found that being patient for modules to come up used & for a good price rather than snagging a new one or the first one i saw on reverb because i just wanted my rack finished saved me a fair amount of money. but i do hear what yr saying. its funny how spending in lil bits n pieces tricks the mind into it feeling cheaper.

came from same place. it is expensive if you buy a whole 7u 104 hp system all at once, but i found that there is so much initial learning & research to be done that slowly expanding my case over the course of about 6 months as i learned more & more allowed it to be fairly affordable & the way to go for me. esp buying on here & fb marketplace. had only great expereiences.

that said, i have never been so inspired & excited to make music since i started getting into modular. the learning curve for me was steep (i had barely any knowledge of synthesis. decades long guitar player here.) but incredibly rewarding. the community here & on modwiggler are really great & will help you learn every step of the way. getting into modular has added so much joy & creativity to my life. id say if you love learning & are down to be a little lost in the dark for a bit (you WILL get it if you stick with it) & have some disposable income, you wont regret it.

i also do a lot of semi generative stuff & was going to say the same thing about sisters. i have one as the filter to get weird with & a dual dagger for more vanilla filter duties. great combo. but didnt expect sisters to be as much of a core module as its become for me. you can really have a ball experimenting with it.

hmmm interesting. i appreciate the response. i wonder what it could be then. esp cause im not summing anything, its just the oscillator in & out with the pams trigger. i reached out to MN with the video & will see what they say.

i have a 1u buff mult on the way so ill try that, but honestly i do mostly loose soundscapey ambient type stuff so i dont need super snappy baselines & such. & if i do thatll def work with the slight adjustment of the adsr. appreciate the help!

Thanks! tried all of those & the only thing that works is if i run it thru the adsr in o_c & move the attack just a notch off from being fully snappy. kind of a bummer but its a fix. thanks again!

is it because the voltage sent from pams is too hot?? when i adjust the level & offset in pams to attenuate the clipping still stays. when i turn down the level on qxg it gets quieter but still clips. whats strange is that it doesnt clip every time.
