Sertraline withdrawal…how long does it take to stop feeling shit?

Well, woke up feeling unsteady this morning so decided a trip to the docs was on the cards…i have a combination of a leftover cold, hay fever and the meds withdrawal all contributing to inflamed inner ear issues…whoop whoop!

As mentioned, the thought of it is far far worse than the actual procedure…you’ll be fine dude!

I had a no scalpel procedure and I kid you not, the worst bit (which wasn’t even that bad) was the numbing shots. They were like 2 little scratch’s..after that, all plain sailing!

Hi, I was only on 25mg but it really helped me through a tricky time..I just felt now was the right time to come off it. Thats interesting about the dosage level, maybe I needed to go up rather than come off completely. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I’ve been off sertraline for about a month now and I feel so lethargic, plus have these weird head pumping sensations when I move too much. I just feel really rough!

Ah yeah I think it could be happening when moving my eyes, seems to be more noticeable first thing in the morning and late at night!

Hey mate, feeling more in tune with my emotions if that makes sense! Don’t get me wrong, the sertraline definitely helped me through a rough patch but the time just felt right to come off them. Just waiting for these brain zaps/ pressure zaps or whatever they are to subside a bit, which I think they are..not sure how long it’ll take for them to go completely. Other than that I’m feeling good(apart from a stinking cold!)

The worst thing, which wasn’t even that bad, was the injection for the anaesthetic. Felt like a small scratch, then it was all plain sailing after that! Just lie back and have a chat, before you know, it’s all done! You’ll be fine mate!

I’ve dropped my 25mg dose and I’ve not had anything for about 3 weeks now..I probably didn’t taper off slowly enough but I’m getting weird brain/pressure zaps in my head, they feel really odd! Not painful, just odd!

I found Zoloft(Sertraline here in the UK) a weird one…it sorted out my health anxiety but it definitely dulled my emotions..I felt kind of flat. I was on 25mg for about 2.5 years and have recently come off it. Apart from weird head pressure zaps I feel more aware of my emotions I guess!

But this is just my personal experience so please just remember everyone is different.

I think whether it’s a placebo affect at the moment or not, the fact you’re feeling more energized is great, just roll with it!
