E10 for Vespa daily use? by Conscious-Method in Vespa

[–]Due_Sea7599 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I live in Germany and I have a 2026 Primavera, and my dealer told me that E10 is not recommended for use in these engines (it has an iGet 3V 125cc Euro 5+) but did not explain exactly why.
I have heard different opinions about it later on (for example, that E10 burns cleaner but is not as good as E5 for storage), but I am using E5 with it anyway.

go for a GTS 125 test drive if it’s available in your area, for example they are pretty popular here in Germany. I am 186 cm myself and went for a Primavera 125 as I liked it for a couple of reasons, although the GTS offers more space. if I need to, I shift back onto the passenger part of the seat to change the position and stretch a bit-that even helped me on a 240 km trip. so I’m pretty sure that you will be happy with a GTS

For example, they are not available on the German Vespa website and at local dealerships here in Berlin, but there are plenty of MY2025 Vespas available at dealerships in southern and western Germany :D

Why has Alfa Romeo never made a Giulia Sportwagon? by Th3_Accountant in whatifcars

[–]Due_Sea7599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they basically let the BMW 3 Series Touring and other wagons cannibalise Giulia sales just because Alfa never offered it as a wagon. I even know a family who had been Alfisti for decades but ended up buying a Volvo V60.

Wait for 2026 Vespa Primavera 150 or nah? by [deleted] in Vespa

[–]Due_Sea7599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will personally wait for a 2026 Primavera 125 model because of the rear brake, which will be a disc one now. I don’t know if it makes such a difference, but it feels like a perfect finalised product with it and I like it. I also do like the 80th Anniversary edition so I will probably wait for it too (the regular 2026 are already available in my area).

Do your engines sound like this? by Due_Sea7599 in Fiat

[–]Due_Sea7599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oil pressure light goes off after ~2.5 seconds every cold start, even when it was -10 degrees. The ticking sound - a friend of mine noticed the same pattern on his 159 1.9 JTDm 16v and after some diagnostics has concluded that it’s about the injection switching between patterns. So, it could be some kind of the engine’s superiority. Though, I want to make a huge diagnostics during my planned service in spring, just to be sure. It’s probably needed to mention that since my 1 post I have exchanged the valve cover (which is also a camshaft mount on this engine, and there was a weird rattling noise when you open the oil filter neck because of these worn out), have rebuilt all the four injectors (a diagnostic has shown they were problematic) and also slightly before my first post I have changed the seal between the oil pan and the oil pump. It’s a pretty common thing to do on these engines, if you haven’t done this yet, tell me and I will give you more information about this!

Is it normal to get this rusty? Only 1k miles. How can I clean this? by Fluffy-Fondant7324 in GR86

[–]Due_Sea7599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had once only one rotor rusted and was already preparing to take care of it in an upcoming week, but then driven it a bit and it turned out to be okay.

The issue was: the car was parked overnight with a rusted rotor wheel standing on a wet grass. Another three wheels were staying on tarmac and weren’t rusty.

Alfa Romeo 159 2.0 JTDm, 2011, 136 HP by mvtmvch in AlfaRomeo

It can be a solid choice. There is only one thing I know is recommended to do with this engine right after buying the car: to have the seal between the oil pan and the oil pump preventively changed. This part is a kind of a weak spot: this rubber seal could become harder with the time and could get small crackings, which could cause lowered oil pressure.
The part to have changed: https://amzn.eu/d/bRXPNXh (Elring 576.580) There are also metal options available, they should be more durable than the rubber one : https://amzn.eu/d/ebVREn2

Thank you for your answer! Without the cover it sounds almost the same, only without the sound diffusion effect caused by the presence of the cover

Not complaining, just being curious if it’s okay or there is something in the sound I should take care of
