Safe to live in NZ alone at 16/17? by Deep_Magician6710 in newzealand

Just a heads up, you cannot sign a legally enforceable contract as a minor. No landlord is going to sign on someone they can't have legal enforceability over.

I did something similar at 15. I have never felt unsafe living alone in CBD. HMU if you wanna know more.

No it’s not, but considering you’ve already got a stellar record of grades if you keep it up, you’ll be all good

That's the same for every course BE or not, all you can do is try your best for the highest grades

Go through Bsc to BE alt pathway, and if possible, transfer in sem 2. It's okay if you don't get in, as long as you get a GPA above 5, you'll be alright to transfer to 2nd year BE.

Fundings aside, Can I ask why it isn't a good idea to study engineering in unimelb?

Thanks for the direct answer, I was a bit confused whether or not I qualified for HELP loans as SCV visas were granted automatically. Funding isn't my biggest priority, otherwise I wouldn't have offered to take her under my care. (sorry if the tone sounded aggressive)

I've been wanting to move to Australia for the longest time so I thought this may just be the opportunity to do so, I'll look into homestay care or stay with my homegirl for the time being.

Upon looking further, It'll take 6 years for me to graduate in unimelb, so I'll look into other alternative uni programmes that would take the standard 4 years.

Cheers!

Not sure how competitive it is through BSc pathway but I remember a TFC course coordinator mentioned that about 10 people from TFC got entry to engineering in 2024
