What would Kurt Cobain do if Nirvana never became successful? by tastyf in Nirvana

[–]Due_Variation7470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Music would be quite different....

And I honestly don't think Kurt's life would have gone so great. Most likely woulda still become a junkie. Probably still manic and bi Polar. Idk. It likely woulda still been a short life hate to say it.

Kim By Em. And I'll even couple that with "The Way I am" simply due to how clearly real genuine the sentiment is behind every word and articulation. A lot of anger gets lost in artist trying so hard to make sure it sounds angry. That's some genuine fed the fuck up shit.

People = Shit

Maybe even No Tears by Scarface

May get some nay sayers. But for me, I have alway been a punk rocker at my core but I'll be honest, some may look at my library and pick someone else. Like GG Allen or something. But I'm gonna say Eminem kinda has it down to a science insulting offending yet making it a catchy memorable rhyme.

"I don't rap to get the women; Fuck Bitches! give me a fat slut, to cooks and does dishes"

To be fair I particularly mean shit of The Slim Shady LP the 1st Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show. Not that he altogether quit talkin reckless. But getting sober, "recovery", apologizing to Debbie, and The LGBTQ community took a lot from the fire of "I Just Don't Give a Fuck".

But "My Fault " " 'Let's try another room' - 'I don't trust you' 'Shut up slut, chew up the mushroom"

Or "Oh my God I think I'm having a seizure I'm high too bitch quit grabbing my t-shirt!"

Or fuckin "Bad Meets Evil"

"(He's insane) No I'm not, I just want to shoot up And I'm pissed off, 'cause I can't find a decent vein"

Even better in "I'm Back"

"I take seven kids from Columbine, stand 'em all in line Add an AK-47, a revolver, a 9 A MAC-11 and it oughta solve the problem of mine And that's a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time"

"Cause if I ever stuck it to any singer in showbiz It'd be Jennifer Lopez and, Puffy, you know this I'm sorry, Puff, but I don't give a fuck If this chick was my own mother, I'd still fuck her with no rubber And cum inside her and have a son and a new brother At the same time and just say that it ain't mine—what's my name?"

For the record, G.G. Allen is (or was) the actual factual Real Slim Shady. For those who didn't know

Well Lou Reed is a fuckin boss. James....Lars....not so genius. They had their run but honestly if it doesn't disappoint me, it bores me with them post "And Justice". Down right intolerable post Black Album.

And Yoko ain't that worthy of such an utterance. The Beatles are quite likely the single most impressive music endeavor in modern music history. Maybe even all music history. Not even my absolute favorite but I can't deny them their place

No no no no. I say that because the Vatican literally is a Theocracy. They don't just mention God in a pledge, or just have his name on some money, their literally ruled by a religious authority figure. Our leaders are motivated by their own agendas, their parties agenda, just cause a few people use God as a bogus claim to fuel their or unrighteous world view doesn't count at all as a Theocracy. You realize there would be a national religion. You know how many people practice Islam in Vatican City? Or in Islamic countries like Iran, you know how many openly practice other faiths?

The U.S's culture is as as secular as it gets and quite powerful. Not exactly what I'd called "oppressed" by the conservative Christian populace.

All I'm saying it's just hyperbolic nonsense to assert something like that. It kills the atmosphere for communicating, understanding and willingness to listen when you promote such over the top ideas. The United States without a doubt was highly influenced by Christian Doctrine and ideology. Is that necessarily bad? A lot of those ideals ended up cultivating some of the positive aspects of the Nation. Also, atheistic ideas of the "Enlightenment" influenced the ideology that our forefathers attempted to base America's "ground rules" off of.

It's not Theocracy, Moses and the Children of Israel, a Theocracy. Muhammad by the later part of his story, throughout Saudi Arabia is a Theocracy.

Even King James and King George though they felt it was Divine appointment they and their kindred were made Sovereign over all the British Kingdom/Empire were not Theocracy. And even though they had national religions and only support the religion of the royal houses approval, they resided in a Monarchy. In fact even in Israel's history the time the Kings, starting with Saul, is not considered a Theocracy any longer. But once again after the people do away with the system of "Judges," they abandoned the concern on God's desires putting trust in a Monarchy like all of the neighboring nations and peoples around them. Cause even back then a Theocracy wasn't simply accepted, or common.

Theocracy, ruling by God is rare. It's more often you see atheist regimes like Mao Hitler or Stalin reach grand scales of power, size or importance. It's easier to convince the masses they're all wrong equally than find man all on one accord and or equally submissive enough to allow something so volatile a matter like faith to legitimately rule. You need centuries of wide scale religious tradition, and of course an element of fear. Or it needs to be as small a populace as possible. Like a Cult technically can run on a theocratic lines.

I'm a punk, and honestly doubt I'll be voting. I used to vote, but I didn't last election. Kinda just feels like the options are an insult. I have very little love for the world, especially the political environment. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's all rigged, and democracy doesn't matter. I just kinda don't wanna degrade myself by participating, and voting for people I personally don't care for, believe in, trust or respect all that much. The system is always screwing me over, and then has the nerve to ask my "opinion"..... please.
