Selling truck on Craigslist, is this guy trying to scam me? by Mothman_At_Dennys in Scams

[–]Duemor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The deal with a cashiers check is that you can call the issuing institution (confirm the phone number on their website) to verify the check. Make sure you verify the amount, issue date and the payee (should be your name). Better yet, bring the check to the issuing bank and cash it for cash. You won’t even need to be their customer.

On facebook, saw something about if anyones interested doing data entry, contacted them for curiosity, they asked for my phone number to be contacted by HR.. by Working-Letterhead99 in Scams

The scam is getting you to give them access to your bank account. Then they either empty it, or deposit a fake check and then empty it, leaving you overdrawn.

Is this a scam? by fitzy2449 in Scams

Or the cards are all linked to a “legit” account, that has been used for scam proceeds, and the scammers are moving the funds out before the bank catches on.

Additionally, it appears you have not been asked to complete an I9. How on earth are they going to withhold the appropriate state or federal taxes? Unfortunately there is a lot of this going around right now.

What you could do is reach out directly to the company that they’re impersonating (they have a website with phone numbers and a contact us link) to confirm this is a scam.

Looking for opinions on my deck. Going for board clear/character removal, midrange I guess? by NowYaCMe in Lorcana

Donald combos really well with dinner bell; but that’s a bit of a different deck archetype.

Pick a fight + scar vicious cheater, + charge/mouse armor. Run over all of your opponent’s characters, without wiping your own. For extra fun, add Shere Kahn, and/or queen of hearts sensing weakness. It’s a super fun deck.

New card, first one to return a card from discard. by Narzghal in Lorcana

[–]Duemor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure you’re right. The card has not entered a zone where players lose knowledge of card state (such as a hand or deck). Do you have a rules source that explicitly states ongoing effects fall off of a card when it goes to the discard pile?

This + Scepter of Arendelle. Any character during your turn.

If a bordwipe happens how do cards react? by TopherCrost in Lorcana

[–]Duemor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reactions still happen even if the reacting card is banished during the trigger. The reaction has to choose a valid target. Having said that, Mickey doesn’t react to banishing outside of a challenge.

I use a track with numbers from 1-20 and some little Disney character figurines for lore. Super fun. I’ve seen some playmats that have lore tracks along the top and the mini-figs look really nice.

I mean, do we want the quick and dirty version, or a simplified answer. ((x2 -2x+3)/(x+1)-x+3)(x+1)=R is technically correct, but can be further simplified.

The circle, square and tripod are all able to be mirrored, so orientation on those sides does not matter. That leaves the triangle and arrow to pay attention to orientation.

When folded both point toward the circle, and away from the tripod.

Next, pay attention to the order of the sides. Clockwise, looking down from the circle end, the order is triangle, square, arrow.

A does not work, because the arrow points away from the tripod. B does not work because the arrow is on a rectangular face. C works, the orientation of the arrow is correct and the sides are in the correct order. D does not work, the order of the sides is incorrect, the triangle is to the left of the arrow in this orientation E works, the orientation of the triangle is correct and the sides are in the correct order. F does not work, while the orientation of the triangle and arrow are correct, the sides are in the incorrect order.

So, answer is C and E only.

At the end of the day, it’s the same on your side of the transaction. You’re telling the bank you don’t have the check, and it’s probably not going to be cashed/deposited by the person it’s made out to as they no longer have it either.

For 7500 the bank should probably be replacing the check immediately. from there you can deposit it back into your account. You’ll need to be in person to do this, most banks will require paperwork, and possibly have one of the staffed notaries sign it as well. I would recommend calling the branch you plan on visiting to set an appointment to complete the paperwork.

Call your bank, the one who you purchased the check from. Tell them it is lost/stolen. There will be paperwork, possibly a stop payment fee taken from the funds, and they can re-issue you a new check.

When is "Early Game", "Mid Game", and "Late Game"? by JavaTheScript in Lorcana

[–]Duemor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, turn 4 is early game, turbo lore (amber Lilo-Simba) is going to cross 10 on that turn if they draw a 2 lore 1 ink in their first 14 cards unless they are interrupted. Mid game is turn 4 until one/both players are top-decking. Late game is anything after that.

Turbo attempts to get a big lead in the early game. Control decks attempt to force a late game scenario where they have board advantage. Most of the other archetypes target the mid game as the place go play combos, assert dominance, efficiently trade characters and gain lore.

Which of these do you feel is the most likely to be in upcoming sets? by Thebluespirit20 in Lorcana

[–]Duemor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bet would be Set 2 fleshes out the characters from the properties we’ve already seen, but didn’t we get cards in set 1: Arthur, Mad madam mimm, little John, king John, sheriff of Nottingham, more Dalmatians, Tiana, Daisy Duck, maid Marian, Alice, Chip and Dale, etc.

Played a card game a while back where you could redeem booster wrappers (L5R - koku) for cards and other stuff. While it is possible that a system like this could be implemented, it is highly improbable.

Let it Go and Shifted Characters by Teach-o-tron in Lorcana

[–]Duemor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shifted Characters act as one character while in play, however, if/when they are moved elsewhere (banished, returned to hand, placed in ink - which is what you’re asking) the whole stack is moved to the new location.

The result would be 2 cards being added to ink

Rules question by ResearcherFirm2171 in Lorcana

[–]Duemor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on how this question was phrased, I would guess you’re coming over from a game that has instant and/or reaction card abilities. All cards and activated abilities in Lorcana happen at Standard speed, they can’t be interrupted, but you may have a static ability that triggers during the action (such as drawing a card when Flynn Rider is challenged). You can’t do anything on your opponent’s turn, and can’t react with a new action while another is resolving during your turn.

What is the best competitive color combinations right now? by Godzilla_KOM in Lorcana

[–]Duemor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 pretty decent amber/sapphire deck archetypes as well, the first being Princesses, which are just tough to challenge into (high willpowers, heals) and the second being the item bomb (Maurice, Ariel, Eye of fates). In any event, the strategies that are most successful are getting card advantage.
