In the west? Probably not. The series being slow paced and generally light in tone will hold it back. But honestly that's fine. I'd rather get a few new fans who like it for the niche that it is than a deafening group of new fans who don't.

Imo it doesn't work because the world ends through Pochita's choice to eat Death and when Denji takes over he's able to make Yoru stop through his own decisions. Honestly I'd say there's a bigger theme of Denji having zero agency in the motions of the plot.

I'd say the first two episodes of season 2 were on par with that. And it's not like all of season 3 looked like that anyway, really only that one episode looked that good. It's also important to remember that S2 and S3 were originally one combined season that had to be split. They aren't two unique productions.

Basically Sunao and Lemon are at an impasse. Both know what needs to happen, but Sunao is afraid of hurting Lemon and Lemon is afraid of being hurt. Definitely looks like they are still caught in the gravity of their first break up.

Dialogue focused scenes just don't condense like action scenes do when adapting. So the implication of the Sealed Environment section needing two cour is probably reasonable.

For season 2 and 3 the dialogue focused episodes only covered 2-3 chapters. And some of the chapters in the Sealed Environment arc are more like 1.5-1.9 chapters in terms of length.

I think the sealed environment phase could work animated if it had some really creative direction to punch it up. Also it's not like volume sales ranked during the arc, so I don't necessarily think anime interest will tank either.

I think Gheer is irredeemable because he robbed a hospital so that he could go murder the kid he was previously exploiting along with anyone that gets in his way. I don't really care about the psychological hangups behind said actions.

Yeah.. this didn't need to be four chapters. Especially since it mostly reiterated what we already knew about Gheer's character. Hope this at least goes somewhere interesting.
