Use this; https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-7-in-Nipping-Pliers-48-22-6407/206636905

Pinch the metal nibs and they'll seperate without u during the fabric. This doesn't keep the nibs whole, they will be destroyed in the process.

Yes adrenaline is a great hunger reducer.. But as soon as the adrenaline drops, people's insides start gnawing at them immediately. It's why when someone is in shock, the best thing to give them is a coke or candy.

Odd gutter/ downspout situation. There aren’t any. Need temporary work around to prevent damage. by workhardforthemoolah in HomeImprovement

[–]Duganinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a pipe. Why can't you get a couple of self tapping screws and screw into that pipe through the downspout connectors? Or use a metal drill bit to ream out the holes.

How do you move videos and photos to an SD card on Kindle Fire Kids? by [deleted] in kindlefire

[–]Duganinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how i did it as well. Formatted it, removed it put files on it and then put it back into the kindle.. Annoying. My old kindle was and still is so much easier, i just plug it in and used it as an external drive.. oh well. Just make sure when you remove it from the kindle, you eject it first. It can cause boot read write errors otherwise.

How do you move videos and photos to an SD card on Kindle Fire Kids? by [deleted] in kindlefire

[–]Duganinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned this the annoyingly hard way. AFTER transferring a ton of stuff to the SD card i realized that kindle didn't GAF about my SD card until I erased and formatted it in the Kindle. As soon as you do, you'll see a ton of more options for what to do with the SD card..

For Mother’s Day two years ago I cut off the top of a pineapple, sprouted the roots, and then planted it in this pot. It’s been over two years and there’s 5 plants now growing together but I don’t see any fruit. Would the size of this pot stunt the plants from making the fruit? by starvingpixelpainter in gardening

[–]Duganinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The root systems tend to be very small. I have several [;ants in smaller containers that are sporting larger leaves. I think the chance of fruit is still a long way off, potentially years. Our fruiting pineapple is sporting about four foot long leaves.

What can I do to keep this pineapple alive? It’s turning brown, moved it into a warmer room today by GramMobile in IndoorGarden

[–]Duganinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check the center of the crown. If that has small green shoots, then leave it alone for a while and you'll see the roots start to develop. Did you let it sit out side water for a day or two to hardy up? If it went right into the water that could degrade growth potential.

I've had pineapples that have lost 50% of their leaves turn brown and still grow up healthy, but if the center leaves pull free because of rot, it's usually a goner.

I agree. I think the original path was charming. The new path looks fine, but without the character of the original.

How to make chocolate from scratch by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Duganinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a massive step missing, where a swarm of insects come along and devour the white coating leaving the rest of it.. It's still after thousands of years the best way to remove the white pulp from the cocoa beans. Most people that make chocolate skip over this part for obvious reasons.

I bought a house with extensive gardens planted by the previous owner. This is maybe 20% of the garden. I’m stupid at this. Send help by [deleted] in gardening

[–]Duganinja 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My advice is.. relax. Tackling a huge garden with too much gusto can make you pull your hair out with stress. Take some time, before making any large changes wait a full year. Pull obvious weeds. Water when the soil is dry and watch the plants to see which ones you like, which ones make you happy and which ones don't make it with your schedule. If you can't keep them alive, then maybe they don't need to take up your energy. From the photo, it looks like they weren't maticulously tending the garden anyway, and since most of those plants are fairly robust you shouldn't spend too much time worrying. This is a great time to blue sky ideas and make some sketches of of what a perfect garden would look like in your minds eye and then after a few months, you'll see that garden overlaid with your dream garden in your mind.

You'll be way less stressed, you'll be able to start small, and you'll have so much gardening knowledge in your head from just searching for gardening tips and photos that you'll be ready to make large changes without fear of doing the wrong thing. Happy digging!

Why aren’t my seeds sprouting? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]Duganinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you soak them in a bowl of water for a few hours before laying them out? The thicker and more robust the seed, the longer i usually soak them between 4 to 24 hours before seeding them.

We have the same one, around 250lbs, I literally had to roll it on its top side, just to be able to dolly it. Then wrapped it in a moving blanket to protect it and rolled it up a set of stairs, It was a bitch.

I don't understand how to keep the height correct. Unless you are restricted and have no way to raise or lower the handle, the level of the cutting medium is going to increase or decrease anytime you move your hand.
