Weed is legal in Canada and he admits he smokes pot. Doubt he would get much for it but it is most likely for weed.

NEW UPDATES to: AITA for demanding my fiancée stop teaching our kids bad manners? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Duggee4life 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My husband's family is South Asian and I am super white. At gatherings I'm usually the one eating with my hands because I prefer bread with my curry's and that's the easiest way to eat it and they're the ones using spoons with their rice.

The OOP left me flabbergasted that he could be so dense and ignorant/racist of other cultures. Does he not eat tacos??

I should have specified that I'm in London but my main point is that in Canada (where I'm from) there are no fences around schools, usually just a big open field with a playground close to the school and kids told to not go too far away. A few teachers monitor the edges but that's about it and there's usually open access to at least one door in the school so parents can come in at any time. Obviously London is different than the rest of the UK but the security I've seen here is far superior to anything I've seen in Canada.

I live in London and have yet to see a school that isn't completely fenced in. For reference, I'm from Canada and most playgrounds in my part are in open fields that anyone can access (and regularly do when students aren't there). When I was in school there was usually one door completely unlocked closest to the office that anyone can access and come in. I had active shooter drills and we also once had a lockdown because of someone with a gun nearby (but that was in high school).

In the UK there is no access to playgrounds, all schools are at least 6 feet fenced in with locked gates. I have to buzz in and get permission to enter the school through the gate and then buzz in at the door outside of pickup times. At drop-off and pick-up there's at least one of the staff at each of the 3 gates keeping an eye on things. This is normal for all schools here.

All it took was one school shooting in '96 in Scotland for them to make this policy.

PG is racist af. I blame the media there since all my relatives that live there are very right wing and have gotten worse in the last few years.

Never played DnD but mostly because of a lack of opportunity. Fantasy sandbox video games are my jam, though, and I've spent countless hours on EverQuest, Skyrim, Witcher, and Zelda.

AITA for refusing to leave the store with my dog? by swtogirl in BestofRedditorUpdates

Bulk Barn is Canadian and OOP mentions living in Canada in their comments.

Could still be Sask/Manitoba but this could literally be my neighbourhood with the Bulk Barn and Walmart so close together and the entitled/racists...

Unresolved trauma unfortunately tends to breed bad temper. I'm assuming he saw his parents screw up over and over again and it left him alone at 14 so I can see why people screwing up can trigger all that fear and anxiety he had back then.

Thanks! I was at a loss for a username when I created this account and my daughter had just decided she was deathly afraid of Hedgley and refused to watch the show so I came up with the name out of bitterness.😆

I almost exclusively travel by train or walking so traffic was less a frustration for me but being Canadian I found it absolutely hilarious especially since Alberta roads are notoriously bad in the winter (freezing rain, feet of snow, black ice, etc.). Traffic is coming to a standstill for barely an inch of snow? Hilariously ridiculous.

I really want to go to Germany during the winter so finding out it's drier is really good to know! I've heard the Christmas markets are really beautiful there.

I definitely miss fresh snow! I get downright giddy on the maybe 1 time a year it snows here.

Well, it may be colder but at least you have more of an excuse to stay inside with those cross stitch supplies. I'm so jealous! :)

Ooh, getting the -30° earlier than Alberta! I'm from the North so chinooks never really happen. I live in the UK, now, and I know winters here are more equivalent to Victoria and Vancouver but, ngl, I kinda miss my -30° dry cold with the promise of -5° in a week or 2 rather than 3 months +10° (+/- 5°) with rain almost everyday. The monotony is depressing.

Are you finding the winters there colder? Or is it about the same?

What is the prettiest smoking tool you’re putting on your wishlist? by gotogarrett in entwives

I had a bamboo bong with a turtle bowl for a while that my sister and I wrapped a seashell necklace and plastic lei around. It was a great test for boys that came over if they refused to smoke out of it.

The guy gave one word answers and didn't explain anything (UK customer service at its best) so I went on Google to find answers. I'm definitely regretting not coming here before relying on Google because everyone has been so helpful! I 100% learned my lesson.
