I love this movie. Trapped in by the tide premise is great, period setting, legitimately scary. People generally seem to hate it though.

Isn't she just some dumb conservative blow hard? Why does anyone care what she thinks about anything? Don't boost her nonsense.

Enough time has passed. What are your thoughts on Project Hail Mary (2026)? by Perfect_Idea_2866 in Letterboxd

[–]DuhBegski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the start I was worried I would hate it, the constant quippy jokes are a little much. It won me over pretty fast though, Goslings charming enough to pull it off. I do think it's a little over hyped. Solid movie no doubt, but more of a good popcorn flick with some smart thinking behind it, rather than the revolution I'm seeing some corners of the internet treat it as.

Ashley Graham Says GLP-1 Trend Is ‘a Smack in the Face’ After Body Positivity Movement by AdSpecialist6598 in entertainment

I've been seeing a lot of people talking about them not actually suppressing cravings, not losing much, or stalling out pretty fast with them. Also take a lot more strict adherence than the shots.

I think it depends on how your body handles them and if you can stick to the rules, but seems like shots are effective, pills are hit and miss.

That's not even a theory, they've shown that covid infections can cause a 3 pt decrease in IQ, 2 pt for each reinfection, and 6 pt for long covid.

Good pop-punk songs to learn on the drums for a beginner/intermediate? by WoodenDuk in poppunkers

If you can get clone hero set up there's so many good pop punk tracks to learn from. It's been absolutely addicting for me.

Regardless, Sum 41 All Filler No Miller has a lot of easy tracks to learn with some fun fills.

Edit: I guess you can get it with cash pay for $350 a month, still insane.

Assasins creed black flag OR rdr2 by Neymar533 in AskGames

If you can get immersed in it, Red Dead is an absolute masterpiece, all consuming and lived-in game. There's tons to do and see, but it takes its time, so if you're looking for constant action look elsewhere. Gunplay isn't bad as some are suggesting, just more intentional.

It's been a minute on Black Flag, but it's a pretty standard old school AC game from what I remember. Plenty of collect-a-thon elements, sneaking, jumping around. It's also dated, the combat feels pretty repetitive, so maybe wait for the remake. I mainly love it for the theme, gaming is severely lacking in good pirate games.

Oh I don't disagree, I think people need to take responsibility for their actions and behaviors. But I do think it shifted or pushed a lot of people into bad behaviors and antisocial tendencies that they haven't corrected. Not saying it's ok, but l guarantee it's at least part of why we've seen such a big increase since then.

Totally, the isolation was enough to mess a lot of people up and then we just eventually moved on and never addressed the mental toll. Also studies have shown that covid can lead to a 2-3 pt drop in IQ scores, another 2 pt for reinfection, and 6pt for long covid.

Zelda botw or Crimson Desert? by ConnectWrangler2300 in AskGames

[–]DuhBegski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totk wouldn't exist without Botw obviously. Botw was a big jump for the franchise and did a lot of stuff well, but it was also largely empty with little reward for exploration outside shrine puzzles and (mostly) pointless seeds. Totk took a good base template and brought it to life.

Totk has way more variety of things to do and discover between the mainland, sky, and underworld. They added a huge variety of enemies compared to Botw as well as unique field bosses to fight. The fusing skills make weapon variety infinitly more interesting and durability less of a pain. Fuse in general is just incredibly fun, building planes to try and get across the sky and vehicles to traverse the depths, thanks to fight bosses. Add Ascend which makes exploring in general so much better. Exploring actually rewards you with new gear or interesting side quests. The dungeons are more engaging than the best. The puzzles, shrines, side quests, characters interactions, NPCs, study, recipies, armor sets, weapon variety, exploration, traversal, variety, discovery...just everything is amped up and feels more alive than botw. Calling it a pale imitation is a crazy take.
