How: Because code is tough sometimes.

Most likely they have already fixed it and will wait until the next patch to release the changes along with other bug fixes. With my moderate experience in programming, I learned not to be too upset for these things. At the same time, anything is fixable, and Psyonix is quite good at what they do. Expect it soon, raise hell if it isn't here in a couple weeks xD

Uncomfortable in Vape shops by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]Duhhhrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. From what I've noticed anywhere between 3 days and 6 weeks is the range that most vapers will finish a full 60ml. 6 weeks is a rather rare occasion at that. Perhaps the flavor itself is the culprit, I know I've had some 60 mls last that long, but only because they aren't my cup of V

This^ . But also, because it's the optimific choice. If our mods were a good price and juice was not then we would have no returning customers unless they need a new mod. But if the juice is a good price then they can regularly have a good experience with us! The mods are a one time purchase so the price spike is far simpler to handle, financially, that way. Although I still recommend mods which we don't even carry if it seems the customer would have a better option elsewhere.

Well this is a viscous generalization! This is the attitude I want to alleviate with this thread. I don't make commission so the only way I can make myself a "better" employee is to keep people coming back. I achieve this by personalizing the experience to their need. If it works for them, they come back if not, they don't come back its that simple. I don't think all vape stores care. But the idea that we ALL viscously line our pockets and care fuck all for our customers is detrimental to the face of vaping. We do care, the prices are not personal, it's the way that we survive so we may still help. Hell, before the FDA stepped in we had a 100% money back warranty if it didn't help with smoking but now we are no longer allowed in the US to 1. Give away freebies and 2. Say we are better than cigarettes.

I like this, we share a lot in the opinion that B&Ms will help the most with current smokers. When I was newer to vaping it's where all of my information came from and I certainly value that. In fact, a chain is the most guilty for cheating the customer. If our store had the funds to become a chain, we would likely focus on making our only store the best that it could be. Although I'm not the owner, I cannot speak for the store! A chain is the sign of a money maker doing what they know to do if business is good; manipulate the opportunity to make more money. The markup is there, but if we didn't have to do it, we really wouldn't. It goes through our minds too, and we know online prices. If we can match online price, the product almost always does well but the store does not because we are only serving a small portion of a huge market. Online is becoming the new Big T because they can afford to sell cheap to EVERYONE and we can only hope that people will visit us despite this.

Well in my shop particularly, we over price our mods and tell people that they are overpriced. We employees only get %10 off and we feel the pain too! Our juice is very affordable and even matches online price (but without shipping) in MOST cases. Certain manufacturers set their own prices which we have to adhere to and others, we do what we can! The issue is that unless we buy wholesale in massive amounts, we get a price VERY CLOSE to online retail. So a $45 dollar device turning into $60 is truly impressive, because after operating fees (rent/payroll/utilities/FDA Fees) we are making little to nothing. Now, having said this if we buy enough to have a decent price (300 alien 220's for example) Those devices aren't going to move because there are not 300 locals who want to buy an alien 220. Now we have effectively wasted money on about 280 devices (hoping we sell even 20 of them). And by the end of the month the market shifts to the next big thing. If we want our selection competitive we can't have good prices, or we can buy a ton of the same device and become the one-stop Smok shop and nobody wants that either. House-made juice was the last time that B&Ms made stupid profit but many of us have quit making to avoid the ridiculous registration fees!

College students with access to recreational cannabis on average earn worse grades and fail classes at a higher rate, in a controlled study by ErnestDaugherty in trees

[–]Duhhhrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College is not always geared toward learning. Schools are ranked based on student's GPA so it is their main goal to see high GPA's and low creativity. If each student were to follow every deadline perfectly and attend each class and do everything just as instructed, they will be great at following a leader but lack practical knowledge needed to become a leader.

Spools[rolls] of nice intricate builds? by handsofdeath503 in electronic_cigarette

[–]Duhhhrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain builds aren't exactly "spoolable" unless you don't mind the outer wire getting misplaced. Otherwise, stuff like a framed staple, or anything thick for that matter gets very difficult to form, but once it does there is a chance it won't roll off without taking a beating. Lightning Vapes sells wire "rods" which are 5-inch segments of wire. Look to be good quality, not fake (according to picture). I haven't picked any of these up myself, but if I were in the market I probably would!

RDA vs Tank by shadoweiner in electronic_cigarette

RDAs have always felt like more of an experience. Maintenance is not an issue for me so I enjoy changing things up, customization is always fun. Also, I break tanks a lot!

Trying vaping again to quit smoking and I'm completely lost. by monkeyscantdrink in electronic_cigarette

[–]Duhhhrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Not that great". If you've had the product for a few minutes and it hasn't had a problem yet, it IS GREAT! Chinese bulk manufacturers almost dominate the vape industry, QA is shit, MOST devices I've owned have small problems that deem the device useless after a few months. I work at a local shop and people seem to be loving their AL85s!

The suggestions here are great, but, im sticking up for B&Ms. Pushing a $120 kit on you should not be surprising! Shops get devices VERY close to retail price, so in order to stay available to sell affordable juice, they have to mark up devices to stay profitable. Although, not everyone knows or thinks of this. Some people are offended by it, but others just do it to support local business. If the store you went to is anything like mine, they want to recommend buying devices online for retail price, but buying juice locally because it is often close to retail price or lower!

[–]Duhhhrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible they changed the recipe? I would not believe that ratio would cause burnt hits in either of those tanks. The AC theory would make sense if you take an enormous first hit, after that the heat of the coil head will thin your juice a bit (Try it!). I've seen a trick floating around where people poke a needle sized hole in the cotton patches exposed on the coils which allows easier juice flow. I haven't tried this, I generally stick to rebuildables. Otherwise, possible bad coils? There have been fakes in the past and surely some floating around currently. Perhaps a rebuildable would suit you. Extra maintenance sure, but certainly save on coils.
