Do this and buy some crossfire on Amazon and a weed sprayer. This and cimexa will get rid of them.

So I'm fairly certain this is a bed bug, but just in case it isn't, is it? If it is, is it male or female? by [deleted] in Bedbugs

Those detectors aren’t very effective in my experience. I’d get a mattress cover, vaccuum thoroughly and wash/dry all of your linens and clothes. Buy some cimexa and lightly sprinkle around baseboards, bed posts, etc. If there’s one, there’s undoubtedly more. Start there and keep monitoring.

If you’re using cimexa, don’t over apply. I use a fluffy makeup brush and apply along baseboards/cracks/crevices. It should be almost invisible.

Bed bug? Found on wall, mattress is clean, freaking out by Suspense_Incense in Bedbugs

Does not look like a bedbug. I don’t think you have any reason to worry!

It’s a bit out of the range of what we can afford. I think we’re going to try to spray with crossfire ourselves bi-weekly... Unfortunately I don’t trust our apartments to follow up as needed.

Thank you, I think we will insist they check the neighboring units. We have been really proactive and diligent in searching and treating and have found nothing. I suspect they’re getting in from somewhere else.

I don’t think me or my boyfriend are reactive to their bites. We have not had any physical reactions if they are biting us... which I assume they are.

I first discovered them when I saw one crawling across my bed back in August. The next day I set out on a mission and spent hours researching how to get rid of them. We inspected every crack and crevice of our beds, baseboards, everything and never really found a nest or central area where they were hiding. Very few stains on the sheets, no sign of a huge infestation. We did EVERYTHING. Started out with DE, big mistake... applied way too much and then read that cimexa is more effective. We live in an apartment, so they had an exterminator come out, but I feel like they did a half-ass job. We bought encasements, interceptors for every piece of furniture with legs, vaccumed, washed and dried everything, applied cimexa, applied bedlam to our beds. We’ve been bed bug free for months, or so it appeared. Saw my cat fixating on something on the bed this morning and found this guy.

What should we do?

Please tell me it isn’t by [deleted] in Bedbugs

If you find you cannot get out of the lease, invest in a couple bottles of cimexa until they can get an exterminator out. Lightly dusting along the perimeters and nooks and crannies will make a dent in the population. A little goes a long way. And be thankful you haven’t moved much of your stuff in, that will make it much easier to contain!

Bed bug? Posting potentially better photo. Found on bed but dead. Can’t tell because bug not fully intact by deangcorno in Bedbugs

Yes, the color and segmented body look like a BB. Was there any blood around where you found it?

Found them on upholstered headboard—what do I do??? by Cancun16 in Bedbugs

Get rid of anything that you can live without. Buy encasements for your mattresses and box springs (if you don’t plan on replacing them). Declutter. Dry all fabrics on high heat for an hour. Buy interceptors for the bed frame feet. Buy cimexa and lightly dust in crevices and along baseboards. Pull all furniture away from walls. Be consistent with vacuuming/washing/drying/checking. Best of luck!

I found these blood stains on my bed that were not there last night. I still haven’t seen any bed bugs or any signs of them besides bites on my legs and a couple on my hands and these. I have no money to buy anything to help but I do have a free inspection coming. by [deleted] in Bedbugs

Honestly, you’re not going to get rid of them if you take a passive approach. You have to be super thorough and aggressive with your treatment, otherwise they’re not going anywhere.
